EC Mohsin visits Central Sericulture Research & Training Institute Pampore

KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 20, 2022:

Executive Councilor, Agriculture LAHDC, Kargil Mohsin Ali during his tour to Kashmir on Monday visited Central Sericulture Research & Training Institute, Central Silk Board, Pampore.

At Pampore, Dr Sardar Singh, Director in Incharge CSR&TI Pampore welcomed EC Mohsin and briefed them about the Institute R&D Projects and had a detailed discussion on the collaborative research project with CDTS, SKUAST Kashmir entitled “Popularization of Mulberry Sericulture in Kargil UT Ladakh.”

Under this project, 4 days exposure visit of 100 sericulture farmers from Batalik sector to Srinagar have been scheduled during the last week of September 2022.

The Director CSR&TI, Pampore Kashmir requested LADHC for their cooperation in organizing the exposure visit and it has been decided to hold a meeting in Kargil during the first week of October for the development of sericulture in the district through a Central Sponsored Scheme “Silk Samagra-2.”

Later, the EC interacted with the Scientists of CSR&TI, Pampore, and visited various laboratories/sections of the institute.

In the end, Dr Sardar Singh thanked Chairman/CEC LAHDC Kargil and EC Mohsin for their cooperation in the implementation of the projects in the Kargil district.
