Reviews the departmental work to be done regarding Seva Suraksha Pakhwada

Haryana Social Justice, Empowerment, SCs and BCs Welfare and Antyodaya (SEWA) Minister, Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi said that the government is determined that the benefits of schemes reach the last person of the society and no class should be left behind for development. The government is continuously working for this.

Sh. Bedi has also issued several directions while holding a meeting of the officers of Social Justice, Empowerment and Scheduled Caste and Backward Class Welfare and Antyodaya Department today. He also reviewed the departmental work to be done regarding Seva Suraksha Pakhwada and gave important directions in this regard.

The Cabinet Minister said that the Haryana Government has always made social justice, transparency and good governance its priority. Empowerment of the poor, needy, Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes and deprived sections of the society is the basic spirit of our policies. He said that our government is determined to deliver the benefits of schemes to the last person of the society with a spirit of service and every section should get equal opportunity.

It was also discussed in the meeting that 93 de-addiction centers are operating in Haryana and through these centers, efforts are being made to give the right direction to the youth who have fallen prey to drugs. The Cabinet Minister directed that during the Seva Pakhwada, the conditions of the de-addiction center will be reviewed. The shortcomings will be rectified, apart from this, if needed, opening of new centers will also be considered.

Besides this, the pension distribution system was also reviewed during the meeting. To which the Minister directs that if a wrong pension has been issued at any level, then its recovery status should be clear. Also, the pension process has been done in pro-active mode so that the common man does not have to face any kind of problem. A report was also presented about the progress of the UDID card in the meeting, he added.

The Cabinet Minister also took details of the Vivah Shagun Yojana and directed that those cases will be investigated in which wrongful benefits have been taken in the name of inter-state marriages.

Additional Chief Secretary, Social Justice, Empowerment, SCs and BCs Welfare and Antyodaya (SEWA), Dr. G. Anupama, Managing Director, Haryana Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation, Smt.Geeta Bharti and other officers were also present in the meeting.

While interacting with the media Sh. Bedi said that the Social Empowerment Department will now celebrate the birth anniversary of a great man every year as ‘Seva Diwas’. On this occasion, the employees of the department will also be honored. A proposal will be prepared in this regard and approval will be taken from the Chief Minister. This is being done so that the service spirit gets further strengthened in the departmental work. He said that helping the weaker sections of the society is our biggest goal and continuous efforts will continue in this direction.

Preparation to bring one time settlement

Sh. Bedi said that, earlier subsidy of up to Rs.10,000 was given in the loan scheme of Haryana Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation, which has now been increased to Rs. 50,000. Besides this, an opportunity of one time settlement will also be given to those defaulters who are unable to repay the loan due to any reason, so that they can deposit their outstanding amount and join the loan process again. He informed that from 2013–14 to 2025–26, an amount of Rs 338.65 crore has been distributed to 51,030 beneficiaries. He laid special emphasis on the Antyodaya scheme of the government and said that in accordance with the spirit of Antyodaya, our objective is to make the needy persons of the society employable by providing them loans and other assistance.

While responding to a question regarding the opposition calling the flood relief package given by the Central Government to Punjab as inadequate, Cabinet Minister Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi said that the Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab had earlier said that they did not need the package, but Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi gave the relief package out of concern for the people.
