Chandigarh, March 26 – The Foreign Cooperation Department under the aegis of the Government of Haryana will be organizing the ‘Haryana-Latin American & Caribbean (LAC) Regions Meet’ on March 27, 2022, at 35th Surajkund International Crafts Mela in consultation with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The Chief Minister,  Sh. Manohar Lal, and Minister of State for External Affairs of India, Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi along with officials from the Government of India and the Government of Haryana will grace the occasion.
Sharing more details in this regard, an official spokesperson said that the meeting would certainly play a vital role towards taking the State’s vision forward of ‘Transforming Haryana through a Go Global Approach’ with participation from 11 countries from LAC regions namely Guatemala, Chile, Peru, Costa Rica, Panama, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Colombia, Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana.
The delegates and dignitaries from both the regions would discuss the potential for collaboration in the field of areas of Agriculture, Skill Development, Education, Information Technology, Agro-based Food Processing, Dairy, Sports, Cultural Exchange, mutual interest, and several other sectors benefiting from each other’s relative strength in various areas. The meeting will be followed by a cultural programme at the main Chaupal located in the Mela premises, performed by renowned national and international folk artistes and cultural groups. Such a meeting will help in promoting Haryana on a global platform through a ‘Go-Global Approach’, informed the spokesperson.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Cooperation Department has previously also organized the Haryana- Africa Conclave Series 1 with the participation of Ambassadors/ senior embassy officials from 12 African nations namely Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Madagascar, Nigeria, Eritrea, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Senegal, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Ghana.
