Haryana Power Discoms decides to postpone the Advance Consumption Deposit of the active consumers
Chandigarh, April 23- Amidst COVID-19 Pandemic and in view of the problems being faced by the consumers, Haryana Power Discoms while adhering to the orders of the State Government has decided to postpone the Advance Consumption Deposit (ACD) of the active consumers as deposited by them based on the average billing cycle in the previous financial year for one year.
For this, an application will be submitted to the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (HERC).
Divulging more details in this regard spokesperson of Power DISCOM said that as per the directions of HERC, it is mandatory to keep the ACD amount equal to two average billing cycles based on the consumption of the previous year of the consumers of all categories.
The ACD is being postponed for one year by the department in a bid to provide relief to consumers during the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic so that consumers are not financially overburdened in this hour of crisis.
The spokesperson said that besides this, the Power DISCOMS is committed to ensuring uninterrupted power supply to consumers and resolving their problems on a priority basis.
