KVIC awareness camp organized at border village Hakkal, RS Pura, Jammu

Jammu, 22 August 2025:

The State Office, Jammu of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Ministry of MSME, Government of India, organized a Gramodyog Coordination Awareness Camp today at the India–Pakistan border village Hakkal, RS Pura, District Jammu.

During the program, officials from KVIC, State Office Jammu, provided detailed information about various schemes and initiatives under the Village Industries Development Programme. They motivated the villagers to avail benefits of these schemes and emphasized that such initiatives aim to empower rural communities and improve their standard of living.

The awareness program was graced by Dr. Narendra Singh Raina, MLA RS Pura–Jammu South Assembly Constituency, as the Chief Guest. He appreciated the initiative and explained in detail how KVIC facilitates entrepreneurship in rural areas by providing loans ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹50 lakh, along with margin money assistance and a 35% subsidy. He also highlighted KVIC’s efforts in promoting rural products and linking artisans to larger markets.

On the occasion, Rajesh Kumar, State Director, KVIC, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, elaborated on the economic prospects and benefits of various village industry schemes. These include beekeeping, potter empowerment, dona–pattal machines, paper-making machines, footwear-making units, bee boxes, plumber toolkits, bamboo toolkits, electrician toolkits, AC repair toolkits, and cold-pressed oil extraction units.

The event witnessed the active participation of local Panchayat representatives including Sudesh Kumar, Deputy Sarpanch, and Kunti Devi, Sarpanch, along with KVIC officers Abhay Singh, Executive (Village Industries), Mukesh Patle, Executive (Village Industries), Parveen Akhter, Junior Executive, Naresh Kumar Saini (MTYS), Harpreet Kaur, and Jatin Kumar.

Over 200 beneficiaries from the local community, including women and youth, attended the awareness camp and expressed keen interest in the schemes presented.
