State Cabinet Grants In-Principle Approval to the Mission for Farmers Economic Prosperity

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has stated that Madhya Pradesh is an agriculture-based state with immense potential in the sector. We are making efforts to increase farmers’ income, agricultural production, animal husbandry, and fisheries. We are promoting food processing and setting up agro-based industrial units as well. The government is working with full dedication and planning to boost the income of farmers and cattle rearers and to eliminate malnutrition.

Dr. Yadav said that significant schemes are being prepared to enhance milk production in the state. The government has launched the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana to increase the current milk production share from 9% to 20% as soon as possible. “Through this,” he said, “we are moving forward toward creating ‘Gokuls’ (centres of healthy indigenous cattle) in every household.” He also announced that the government has decided to increase subsidies for milch animals in cow shelters (Gaushalas).

In a message issued to the media on Wednesday, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that, in line with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat @2047 vision, the state government has launched several missions focusing on the welfare of the poor, youth, farmers (Annadata), and women. In its meeting held on Tuesday, the Council of Ministers granted in-principle approval to the Madhya Pradesh Krishak Kalyan Mission.

He affirmed that the government is working with utmost commitment to make Madhya Pradesh—especially its poor and farmers—economically.
