On the occasion of World Health Day, the Medical Committee and NSS units of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, in collaboration with Fortis Hospital, Mohali, organised a Medical Camp for its staff and students. The medical team of Fortis Hospital, comprising of a panel of doctors and medical technicians, conducted a number of screening tests including blood glucose testing, blood pressure, diet counselling, ECG, bone mineral density, eye check-up, weight measurement etc. The panel of doctors included Dr. Prabhu (Cosmetic Surgeon), Dr. Sheibba Mittal (Gynaecologist), Dr. Anmol (Orthopaedician), Dr.Tanvir Kaur (General Medicine), Dr. Shubhpreet (Dietician), and Dr. Nisha (Optometrist). During the camp, over 350 students and staff members were screened for various ailments and were given free medical consultations.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava congratulated the Medical Committee and NSS units on the successful organisation of the camp. She said that a healthy mind resides in a healthy body and this is the philosophy that guides this endeavour to ensure holistic health of the college’s stakeholders.
