Facilities of early diagnosis, assessment, therapy and treatment will be provided for children with disabilities
Minister Krishan Bedi holds an important meeting in Chandigarh with officers of SIRTAR

Haryana Social Justice and Empowerment, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare and Antyodaya (SEWA) Minister, Sh. Krishan Bedi said that the State Institute for Rehabilitation, Research and Training (SIRTAR), Rohtak, will be developed as a state-of-the-art institute. He said that SIRTAR will be equipped with modern facilities along with a strong basic infrastructure so that it can be recognised as an important institute at the national level.
Sh. Krishan Bedi was chairing the seventh meeting of the Governing Body with the officers of the State Rehabilitation, Training and Research Institute (SIRTAR, Rohtak) in Chandigarh on Thursday. He said that facilities related to disability in children, such as early diagnosis, assessment, therapy and treatment, will also be made available at SIRTAR. Along with this, the institute will be developed as the nodal agency in the state for all matters related to children with disabilities.
The Minister also discussed starting new courses in the institute with the officers and directed them to prepare a draft for the same. He discussed with the officers the preparation of a road map to bring SIRTAR onto the national stage and assured full financial assistance and cooperation from the state government in this regard. In the meeting, it was also decided to register Group C and Group D employees, who have been working in SIRTAR for a long time, under the Haryana Kaushal Rojgar Nigam.
The State Institute for Rehabilitation, Research and Training, SIRTAR Rohtak, has for many years been working to bring children with special needs into the mainstream of society by providing education as well as rehabilitation facilities. The institute is active in the field of special education and disability rehabilitation.

Prashant Pawar, Commissioner, Rohtak Division, Sh. Rajiv Rattan, Deputy Commissioner Rohtak, Sh. Sachin Gupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Narendra Kumar, and Principal, SIRTAR Mr A.D. Paswan also remained present in the meeting.
