Chandigarh, August 31– Haryana Governor, Sh. Bandaru Dattatreya said that to make the youth of the state self-reliant, various courses of local, demand-based and need-based skill training should be made so that the State can be developed as a model in the country. He said that work towards making the unorganized sector into an organized sector should be done on priority basis. The Governor was presiding over the review meeting of Shri Vishwakarma Skill University today. Haryana Skill Development and Transport Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma and Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Vijai Vardhan were also present on the occasion.
Sh. Bandaru Dattatreya said that such skill training programmes should be prepared which will take the youth from ITI to IIT and enhance their promotion skills and expand them to the industry line. He said that such programs can also be made of short duration, in which it is mandatory to have two-third practical. He said that MoUs should be signed with countries like Germany, Australia, South Korea so that more and more youth can take education abroad.
Congratulating the Government for the establishment of Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, the Governor said that it is a very commendable work which Haryana has taken initiative across the country.
He said that according to the demand, training courses should be shortlisted and the same should be run as a campaign. Creating clusters in 140 blocks of the state is also an important task in the form of small and micro industries. This will provide employment as well as self-employment opportunities to the youth at the block level.
He said that link these clusters with any department at the block level and also conduct career counselling regularly. For this, employment counselling centers should be set up at the district level. He said that the youth of rural areas have a lot of potential and there is immense potential in the field of self-employment. For this, emphasis should be given on agriculture based training in vocational courses plumber, dairy, handloom according to the local market.
He said that according to the vision of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, in the direction towards doubling the income of the farmers, in that tune the trend towards organic farming has to be increased.
The Governor said that the enterprises who are coming forward to set up in the state should be given full cooperation in setting up their industries. Hospitality should be included with the Rural Livelihood Mission in financial inclusion. Women can participate in this area with great enthusiasm, so the corporation of self-help groups should also be taken and marketing facilities should be increased for them.
He said that employment fairs should be organized at the village level and more and more youth should be provided employment in these.
Addressing the meeting, Haryana’s Skill Development and Industrial Development Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma said that the aim of the Government is that every person should become capable and self-reliant. For this, maximum participation in the private sector should also be ensured.
Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Vijai Vardhan said that priority has to be given to the youth who do not have any kind of facilities so that they can become financially prosperous by joining the mainstream.
He said that along with training, attention should also be given to the placement of youth so that its positive results can come out.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Sh. Raja Sekhar Vundru, Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Sh. Vijayender Kumar, Secretary to Governor, Sh. Atul Dwivedi, Commissioner and Secretary, Employment Department, Sh. Nitin Yadav, Director General MSME, Sh. Vikas Gupta, Skill Development University Vice Chancellor, Sh. Raj Nehru, Director, General Skill Development and Industrial Training Department Smt. Sharandeep Kaur and other senior officials were also present.
