Wheat Arrival Touches 39.65 LMT as Procurement Continues Smoothly in Haryana

10.92 lakh MT wheat procured, Rs. 188 crore transferred to farmers’ accounts

Under the Rabi procurement season 2026–27 in Haryana, procurement of mustard and wheat is being carried out successfully across mandis and procurement centres in the state. During Rabi procurement 2026–27, about 39.65 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has arrived in mandis up to April 12.

Sharing information in this regard an official spokesperson said that 2.44 lakh farmers have completed biometric verification for 30.90 lakh metric tonnes of wheat. Out of this, 10.92 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been procured, and approximately Rs.188 crore has been directly transferred into the bank accounts of farmers.

During the Rabi procurement season 2026-27, mustard procurement in the state has started from March 28, 2026, and wheat procurement from April 1. The Government of India has fixed the minimum support price for mustard and wheat at Rs 6200 and Rs 2585 per quintal, respectively. 112 Mandis/Purchase  Centres have been opened in the state for mustard procurement, and 264 additional procurement sites have been opened in addition to 416 Mandis and Purchase Centres for wheat procurement. Mustard procurement in the state is being done by HAFED, and wheat procurement is being done by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, HAFED, Haryana Warehousing Corporation, and Food Corporation of India.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the state government has introduced new provisions to further strengthen and enhance transparency in the procurement process. These include biometric verification of farmers, vehicle registration number tracking, geo-fencing of mandis/procurement centres, and installation of cameras.

The spokesperson said that during the previous Rabi procurement season 2025–26, up to April 12, 2025, about 20.39 lakh metric tonnes of wheat arrival was recorded in mandis across the state, out of which 10.47 lakh metric tonnes was procured, and Rs. 174.39 crore was paid to farmers.

The government has installed 1,281 biometric machines and 407 iris scanning devices in mandis and procurement centres for farmer verification. Additionally, farmers registered on the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal, or their nominated representatives, can sell their produce after completing biometric verification upon arrival at the mandi.

To ensure smooth procurement operations, around 2,500 personnel and 114 technical staff have been deployed. Moreover, approximately 932 cameras have been installed across mandis to monitor activities effectively.

The spokesperson further said that the state government has made robust arrangements for procurement and will ensure that farmers do not face any difficulty in selling their produce. He reiterated that the government is committed to procuring every single grain from farmers registered on the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal at the Minimum Support Price (MSP).
