Chandigarh, September 4<\/strong>\u2013 Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala has directed the officers of the Labour Department to ensure that workers and employees working in the brick kilns should get the minimum wages as\u00a0 fixed by the State Government. He further added that if a complaint is received against brick kiln-owner in this regard then the manager of the district concerned should take immediate action.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Stating this here today, the Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Labour and Employment Department, said that from July 1, 2021, the State Government has increased the wages of brick kiln labourers by 1.31 percent by linking their basic wages with the Consumer Price Index. He said that the minimum rate of Rs.\u00a0 558.53 per thousand bricks and Rs. 628.35 per thousand tiles has been fixed for the labourers doing stone work in brick kiln.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Apart from this, a minimum rate has also been fixed for the labourers who fill the bricks in the kiln. If the distance from the kiln to the stoned field is up to 400 meters, then the price of Rs. 251.31 per thousand has been fixed for them. If the distance is more than this, then for every 100 meters distance, Rs. 22.28 per thousand will be given in addition to the above rate. He further informed that if the filling is done at the brick kiln by a tempo or animal driven carts or any other machine driven vehicle for a distance of 1,000 meters, then Rs. 206.61 per thousand has been fixed and if the distance is more than that then for every 500 meters Rs. 22.28 per thousand will be given as additional amount.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Deputy Chief Minister informed that the rate of Rs. 44.63 per thousand bricks has been fixed for the labourers doing the work of Carriwala and Rs. 184.29 per thousand bricks for the Nikkasiwala. He said that the monthly rate of Rs. 11,348.43 has been fixed for the labourers doing the work of Chunaiwala, Mason, Coleman and Jalaiwala.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sh. Dushyant Chautala directed the officers of the Labour Department to ensure implementation of minimum wages for the workers working in brick kilns in their respective areas. If there is a complaint of any kind of negligence in this matter, then action will be taken if found guilty.<\/p>\n
