Bandaru Dattatraya presided over the workshop<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chandigarh, September 9: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that Universities should not become institutions only for awarding degrees, but they should also worry about placements. Along with providing quality education, moral education should also be imparted to the students so that the feeling of patriotism is inculcated in them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Chief Minister said this while addressing the inaugural session of a one-day workshop of Vice Chancellors and Registrars of private universities across the state, chaired by Governor Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya at Haryana Raj Bhavan here today. Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal and Chairman, Haryana Higher Education Council, Professor B. K Kuthiala also remained present.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Chief Minister said that Haryana Government is taking several steps to improve the quality of education. The online transfer policy of teachers is also a big step taken in this direction. Teachers have got lot of benefits from this policy, he added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Chief Minister said that as teachers are now getting their teaching station near their homes, therefore they are now giving more focus towards providing quality education to the students. Besides this, the State government is also working on many other schemes, he added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He said that the Super 100 programme is proving to be a boon for many aspiring candidates appearing for competitive exams. The programme was initially started at two places in which 72 and 23 students of poor families successfully got admission in medical and IITs after getting coaching under this programme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now expanding this programme further, it has been decided to start the Super 100 programme at four more places. We hope that it will bring great results, said Sh. Manohar Lal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>University to be opened in every district<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Chief Minister said that the State Government is leaving no stone unturned in the field of education. Establishing new University in every district is the utmost priority of the State Government, so as to ensure that students do not have to travel long distances for higher education, said the Chief Minister.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He said that the State Government is continuously working to open new institutes for higher education.\u00a0\u00a0Under the New Education Policy, two universities have started work of imparting education under the KG-to-PG programme. This programme will be further expanded in future, informed Sh. Manohar Lal. The Chief Minister also asked private Universities to move forward in this direction.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Emphasis on imparting moral education<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Chief Minister called upon the educationists present in the workshop to emphasize on imparting moral education as inculcating moral values in children can certainly play a pivotal role in curbing crime and corruption. Sh. Manohar Lal also stressed on imparting such education, which inculcates the feeling of patriotism in the students.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Inspire students to protect the environment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Chief Minister said that Universities should not be limited to awarding degrees to students but should also be concerned about their placements.\u00a0\u00a0For this, he emphasized on alumni meet.\u00a0\u00a0Along with this, he also asked to chalk out a plan to motivate students towards environmental protection.\u00a0\u00a0He said that tree plantation should be linked with the internal assessment of the students.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Emphasis on no dropout goal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Chief Minister said that working in the spirit of Antyodaya is the utmost priority of the State Government.\u00a0\u00a0For this, an ambitious scheme Parivar Pehchan Patra had been started by the State Government. So far 64 lakh families across the state have been registered under this scheme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Local teams of five people each including a College or University student has been constituted to conduct the survey. Sh. Manohar Lal also called upon the Vice Chancellors of the Universities to cooperate in the survey work.\u00a0\u00a0With PPP, real time data of the family will be available with the State Government. This data will prove helpful in tracking each child, added the Chief Minister.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He said that with this data the State Government can easily achieve the target of zero dropouts by 2024.\u00a0\u00a0Under this, every child from 3 years to 18 years of age will be tracked and ensured admission in school, said Sh.
