Chandigarh, September 30 2021<\/strong><\/h5>\n
People of more than 20 villages around the Singhu and Tikri border adjoining Delhi today met Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal and apprised him about the problems being faced by them due to closed border roads.<\/h5>\n

After giving a patient hearing to their problems, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the government is making every possible effort to re-open the borders while maintaining law and order.<\/p>\n

Transport Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma and OSD to Chief Minister, Sh. Bhupeshwar Dayal also remained present on this occasion.<\/p>\n

Under the leadership of Nationalist Parivartan Manch President, Sh. Hemant Nandal the villagers also handed over a memorandum to the Chief Minister demanding to open the way at the earliest.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister said that the State Government intends to open the roads by maintaining peace. Today itself, the Supreme Court has asked the Sanyukta Kisan Morcha to be made a party in the petition for reopening the blocked border roads, he added.<\/p>\n

Sh. Manohar Lal said that he is also worried about the loss being caused to the traders and shopkeepers due to the closure of roads.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister said that to fix the link roads passing through the villages, work would be done on priority by giving orders to the concerned departments.<\/p>\n

\u00a0The court’s decision in this regard is expected to come on October 4, after which he will meet the Union Home Minister and soon the situation will be normal, informed Sh. Manohar Lal.<\/p>\n

Outrage among the area people<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is a lot of resentment among the people of the border area due to the trouble being caused by the closed roads.\u00a0 One by one the villagers apprised the Chief Minister about their problems.<\/p>\n

They apprised the Chief Minister that due to the closure of the roads, they have even come to the verge of almost closing their businesses.\u00a0 After listening to everyone’s problems, Sh. Manohar Lal assured to solve the issue soon.<\/p>\n

Business of several small shopkeepers stalled<\/strong><\/p>\n

Along with the villagers, small shopkeepers in the vicinity also kept their problems before the Chief Minister. They said that the business of shopkeepers and showroom owners near the border has come to a complete standstill.\u00a0 The situation is so grave that people are even forced to migrate.<\/p>\n

Brawl incidents are happening almost every day<\/strong><\/p>\n

Villagers said that the people who have closed the roads have become a big problem for the residents.\u00a0 Incidents of assault are happening every day.\u00a0 It has become difficult for the local people to commute during the night time.<\/p>\n

The villagers demanded to increase police patrolling during both day and night.\u00a0 On which the Chief Minister said that the patrolling of the police would be increased immediately.<\/p>\n

Children stopped from going to school<\/strong><\/p>\n

Villagers said that due to the closure of roads on the border, children from nearby villages have almost stopped going to schools.\u00a0 The future of the children is also badly affected.<\/p>\n

Many died as they did not reach the hospital on time in case of emergency<\/strong><\/p>\n

A villager, who became emotional while interacting with\u00a0 Chief Minister informed him that due to the closure of roads many patients had died as they did not reach the hospital on time in case of emergency.\u00a0 If someone’s condition deteriorates at night, then it is not possible to take them to the hospital on time.<\/p>\n

The work of the transporters also came to a standstill\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Many transporters who had also visited to meet the Chief Minister with the delegation said that due to the closure of the roads, the transport work has come to a complete standstill. The main road is closed, while the condition of the surrounding roads is so bad that vehicles are damaged every day.<\/p>\n
