The 2nd half of the 4 Days Capacity Building Programme related to General Financial Rules (GFR) and Public Procurement organized by the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi in collaboration with the General Administration Department, UT Ladakh began at Conference Hall Baroo here today.<\/p>\n

Dr Surabhi Pandey, Program Director, IIPA briefed the participants about the aims and objectives of two days workshop on GFR and public procurement virtually, and also expressed her gratitude on behalf of the IIPA to Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh for facilitating the holding of the capacity building sessions in both Leh and Kargil districts.<\/p>\n

District Superintendent Engineer PWD Kargil\u00a0Tashi Tundup besides other district officers and officials\u00a0who are presently dealing with or are likely to be associated with public procurement of goods, works and services from Procurement, Finance, Technical\/ user departments and audit attended the capacity building sessions held today.<\/p>\n

Officers of Agriculture, Youth Services and Sports, Horticulture,\u00a0Animal and Sheep Husbandry, PDD, PDC, I&FC, Soil Conservation, CDPOs, Principals of various higher secondary schools, AEEs and AEs besides other officers and officials were imparted detailed awareness about various aspects of GFR and public procurement system.<\/p>\n

Expert from IIPA\u00a0Vipul Sharma conducted\u00a0two sessions wherein he presented detailed power point presentation about various aspects of the General Financial Rules and Process of Public Procurement. He also\u00a0enlightened the participants about the Government of India guidelines and the Government e-Marketplace (GeM).<\/p>\n

During the sessions, thorough deliberations, experience sharing, case study and panel discussions were held among the participants.<\/p>\n

Research Officer IIPA\u00a0Ayush Negi coordinated the sessions.<\/p>\n

Pertinently, the objective of the\u00a0capacity building programme is\u00a0to sensitize the participants about the changes made in the orders in GFR 2017 relating to public procurement, procurement of goods with government fund, contract management, e-procurement, GeM and Budget, Grant in Aid and Bank Guarantees and other related aspects so that they can perform their duties and functions properly and efficiently.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
