Chandigarh, September 22- Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Dushyant Chautala thanked the Central Government for increasing\u00a0 Minimum Support Price(MSP) of Rabi crops from Rs. 50 to Rs. 300 per quintal.<\/p>\n

He said that\u00a0increase in\u00a0Minimum Support Price has proved the fact that\u00a0the tall claims made\u00a0by opposition saying that three Farm Ordinances passed by Central Government are a threat to MSP, were no less than ‘white lies’.<\/p>\n

The Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Food, Supply And Consumer Affairs Department,\u00a0today said that Food Corporation of India (FCI) and other designated state agencies will purchase the crops of farmers at Minimum Support Price as before.<\/p>\n

He said that Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi has also assured that procurement of farmers’ crops will continue on MSP, the system of mandis will also remain intact as before.<\/p>\n

Mr. Dushyant Chautala said that the State Government has announced MSP of six rabi crops\u00a0before the sowing of Rabi season starts, this will facilitate farmers to take concrete decisions regarding their cropping structure.<\/p>\n

He said that MSP of pulses and oilseeds has been increased to encourage the production and further to\u00a0reduce the dependence on imports of edible oils and pulses.<\/p>\n

He informed that after the increase in MSP of wheat by Rs 50 per quintal for the upcoming Rabi-season, now the\u00a0MSP has\u00a0 become Rs. 1975 per quintal.\u00a0 Likewise,\u00a0gram\u2019s MSP has been increased by Rs. 225, lentil’s MSP by Rs. 300, mustard MSP by Rs. 225 and barley MSP by Rs. 75 per quintal.<\/p>\n

Deputy\u00a0Chief Minister\u00a0reiterated that he has always been advocating for the interests of farmers and will continue to do so.\u00a0 By increasing the Minimum Support Price of Rabi crops,\u00a0Central\u00a0Government has proved that this system will continue even further, so farmers should not worry\u00a0at all, he said.<\/p>\n

He said that the purchase of kharif crops starting from October 1 will also be done at\u00a0Minimum Support Price and every single\u00a0grain of the farmers of the state will be procured.<\/p>\n
