Chandigarh, January 18 \u2013<\/strong> Union Ministry of Women and Child Development has invited online applications\/nominations for Nari Shakti Puraskar-2021.\u00a0 Applications\/nominations received up to January 31, 2022 will be considered for this award.<\/p>\n

Giving information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that the Nari Shakti Puraskar-2021 will be given by the Ministry of Women and Child Development on the occasion of International Women’s Day (March 8, 2022).\u00a0 These types of awards recognize outstanding work in the field of economic and social empowerment of women.\u00a0 The Nari Shakti Puraskar is given every year by the Ministry of Women and Child Development to individuals and institutions in recognition of their service to women empowerment, especially vulnerable and marginalized women.\u00a0 Each winner is given a certificate in the form of a prize and a cash amount of Rs. 2 lakh.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson added that the maximum number of awards (including individual and institutional) can be 15.\u00a0 However, any relaxation in the maximum number may be allowed at the discretion of the Selection Committee headed by the Minister of Women and Child Development.\u00a0 Self-nominations and recommendations are also considered for awards.\u00a0 The Selection Committee may also recommend any person\/institution for the award of its choice with sufficient justification.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 The Screening Committee, headed by a Joint Secretary level officer, Ministry of Women and Child Development, will scrutinize and shortlist the nominations received for the awards considering the applications\/recommended institutions and achievements of individuals for the awards.\u00a0 The final selection of the awardees will be done by a Selection Committee headed by the Union Minister for Women and Child Development on the basis of the recommendations of the Screening Committee. Applications will be accepted only through\u00a0www.awards.gov.in<\/a>\u00a0portal.<\/p>\n
