Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri performed \u2018Jalabhishek\u2019 at the historic Shiva Temple at Saketri, Panchkula, today.<\/p>\n

Interacting with media persons after performing pooja in the temple, Governor Shri Dattatraya greeted the people of the country and the state on the occasion of the auspicious festival of Shivratri.<\/p>\n

He said that today is a very holy day and he was very happy to have \u2018Darshan\u2019 of Lord Shiva at the historic Shiv Temple of Saketri. He said the festival of Mahashivratri is a symbol of sacrifice and penance. On this day people all over the country worship Lord Shiva, reposing their faith and reverence in Lord Shiva and observe fast and do \u2018Jagran\u2019 during the night.<\/p>\n

Shri Dattatraya said that today a large number of devotees have gathered in the temple of Saketri without any distinction of caste and creed to have \u2018Darshan\u2019 of Lord Shiva. He said that \u2018God is one\u2019 and people from all walks of life have come here to spread the spirit of unity.<\/p>\n

Shri Dattatreya said that he has prayed to Lord Shiva to inspire him to do more work in the interest of the people of the country and the state.<\/p>\n
