Chandigarh, October 1 – Haryana Government has taken several important decisions so as to ensure that the ongoing \u00a0procurement \u00a0of kharif crops in the mandis of the state is done in a systematic and smooth manner. Besides this, arrangements have been made to ensure that the procurement is done\u00a0as per the \u00a0convenience of farmers, arhtiyas and rice millers.<\/p>\n

Sharing more information, Additional Chief Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Mr. P. K. Das said that the State Government has decided that as per the demand of rice millers, \u00a0as the paddy will be procured, on the same day billing will be done by the arhtiyas.<\/p>\n

Similarly, the lifting of paddy will be ensured within 24 hours so that no inconvenience is faced by anyone in the mandis. In this regard, \u00a0the department has issued guidelines to the \u00a0transporters, said Mr. P.K Das.<\/p>\n

He said that if any transporter is unable to lift paddy within 24 hours, then the Deputy Commissioners have been authorized to take services of any other transporters at the same transportation \u00a0rate.<\/p>\n

Additional Chief Secretary, Mr. P. K. Das has clarified that the procurement process of paddy is being done as per the rules issued by the Food Corporation of India. A letter has been written to the Corporation to install digital sampling machines at every Custom Milled- Rice(CMR) Station. The CMR ratio amount will be increased from 15 to 25.<\/p>\n

He informed that the payment of bills will be done after one month of completion of CMR work. He said that it is mandatory for the millers to unload their trucks within four hours after the vehicle \u00a0reaches the mill.<\/p>\n

Similarly, rice millers can take 50 percent Bardana for\u00a0Jiri\u00a0as earlier. He informed that if the rent of the tarpaulin for the previous season is due with any miller or Arhtiya, then it will also be paid. He said that physical verification will be done as before.<\/p>\n

He informed that a letter will be written to the Central Government for counting of by-products in\u00a0<\/strong>paddy at the time of physical verification.\u00a0He said that according to the data given by Agriculture Department, this year paddy crop has been sown on about 12 lakh hectare area and arrival of 68 lakh metric ton of levy paddy is expected. Procurement process will continue till December 15, 2020.<\/p>\n

Mr. Das informed that the procurement of paddy is going on in eight districts including two Paddy rich districts Karnal and Kurukshetra. Similarly, from today onwards, Government procurement has also started for Bajra at Minimum Support Price of Rs. 2150 per quintal.<\/p>\n
