Chandigarh, April 22 –<\/strong> Haryana’s Forest and Wildlife Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal said that while giving nature it\u2019s due, we should enrich earth with natural resources so that the future generations have a happy and prosperous life. He elaborated that when we will inculcate the habit of conserving nature only then Earth Day will become meaningful.<\/p>\n

Sh. Kanwar Pal was speaking at the inauguration of a two-day workshop organised at the Central Soil Salinity Research Institute of Forest Department, Karnal on World Earth Day.\u00a0\u00a0To inculcate nature conservation among the people, a workshop was organised on the subject of making the urban area green and connecting the citizens with the forest.<\/p>\n

The Forest Minister said that to make people aware about the earth and the environment, a theme based ‘Earth Day’ is celebrated every year on April 22.\u00a0\u00a0This year the theme was “Invest In Your Planet” to provide a healthy and happy life for the coming generations.\u00a0\u00a0He said that for this we have to bring changes in our behaviour and develop the habit of conserving nature.<\/p>\n

He said that we can earn money by working hard, but once our natural wealth is exhausted, we cannot replenish it again. That is why it is necessary that all of us together conserve water, forest and land and ensure that they are clean and flourishing.\u00a0\u00a0Save your natural resources, save rain water by digging ponds etc, he added. To make the earth green, plant more trees. He said that if we want to celebrate Earth Day in the right way, then we have to inculcate the habit of environment protection.<\/p>\n

Additional Chief Secretary Forest and Wildlife Department Sh. Apoorva Kumar Singh said that it should be our moral responsibility to save the earth. This day is to protect the existence of the earth. Today we have to contemplate and meditate on how we can save the earth. People’s participation has to be ensured for nature\u2019s conservation. Every person will become a part of the campaign to save the earth, only then we will be able to repay its debt.\u00a0\u00a0He said that the dream of a forest-covered Haryana would be realized only through community participation.<\/p>\n

Forest Minister Sh. Kanwar Pal and Additional Chief Secretary, Sh. Apoorva Kumar Singh released the special issue of ‘Prakriti Raksha Ke Swar’.\u00a0\u00a0Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Sh. Jagdish Chandra, Vice Chancellor of Maharana Pratap Horticulture University Dr. Samar Singh, Principal Scientist and Acting Director of Central Soil Salinity Research Institute, Dr. PR Bhatnagar also expressed their views at the workshop.<\/p>\n
