Chandigarh, April 27 :-\u00a0 <\/strong>Haryana Health and Family Welfare Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that the Food and Drug Administration Department has two labs one each in Chandigarh and Karnal. Apart from this, provision is being made to open five more labs with latest technology at Gurugram, Faridabad, Hisar, Ambala and Rohtak.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sh. Vij was addressing a gathering on the occasion of laying the foundation stone of the office building of Food and Drug Administration Department in Panchkula today.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Sh. Gian Chand Gupta was also present on the occasion.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sh. Vij said that the Food and Drug Administration Department, which was separated from the Health Department, was constituted to ensure that people get high quality food items which are free of adulteration.\u00a0 He said that we have a mobile van which tests milk for Rs 20 and gives the result. Similarly, we are going to get more such mobile vans to test the food items.<\/p>\n

He further said that the FDA department recently raided five places in Sonipat and three people have been arrested in this case. The police is trying to nab two persons.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Similarly, the department has succeeded in busting the firms manufacturing spurious ghee.\u00a0 He said that even during Corona the department had nabbed those selling fake medicines of Remdesivir and a factory had also been sealed in this case.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sh. Vij cautioned that the State Government will not allow the sale of counterfeit medicines and for this teams have been constituted.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He said that in this episode, Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau has constituted a team which will be headed by senior officer of ADGP rank.<\/p>\n

Sh. Vij said that a separate building of Health Department would also be constructed in Panchkula and similarly a separate building of Police Headquarters would also be built. For this a letter has also been written to the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Health Minister said that all of us have fought the battle with Covid-19 and the employees of the Health Department have saved the lives of people. He said that we have made preparations for the fourth wave of Corona and today itself the Prime Minister has held a meeting through video conferencing with the Chief Ministers of the states.\u00a0 He added that we have conducted free tests, given vaccines and treated people for free and now we are further strengthening health services.\u00a0 He said that today Haryana has become self-sufficient in terms of oxygen, we have sufficient number of ventilators and medicines available today.<\/p>\n

Need to take strict action against the adulterers- Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Earlier, Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker,\u00a0 Sh. Gian Chand Gupta said that it is a matter of happiness that the foundation stone of the Food and Drug Administration building to be constructed in Sector 3, Panchkula has been laid by the Health Minister Sh. Anil Vij.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Emphasizing on unadulterated medicines and other food items, Sh. Gupta said that today strict action should be taken against such people.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sh. Gupta said that a food testing laboratory should be established at every district level.\u00a0 He said that it has been seen that many times the report takes a long time to come after sending the sample for testing, due to which there is delay in taking action against the adulterers.\u00a0 For people to get pure food items, it is necessary the sample report is ready on time.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 During the programme, Additional Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Sh\u00a0 Rajeev Arora said that it is a moment of pride that the foundation stone of the office building of Food and Drug Administration Department has been laid. He said that this building will be built at a cost of Rs 27 crore.<\/p>\n

Commissioner of Food and Drug Administration, Haryana, Sh. Wazir Singh Goyat presented vote of thanks.<\/p>\n

Municipal Corporation Mayor, Sh. Kulbhushan Goyal, State Controller Food and Drug Administration Department, Sh. Manmohan Taneja, BJP District Vice President Sh. Umesh Sood and other dignatries were present on the occasion.<\/p>\n
