On the occasion of the International Museum Day\u00a02022,\u00a0the\u00a0National\u00a0Museum\u00a0is\u00a0offering\u00a0a\u00a0mixed\u00a0bag\u00a0of\u00a0online\u00a0and offline activities\u00a0and\u00a0events,\u00a0designed for\u00a0both\u00a0young\u00a0and\u00a0adults,\u00a0during\u00a0the\u00a0five\u00a0days.<\/p>\n

The exciting line-up\u00a0of\u00a0activities include Teachers\u2019 Training Workshop\u00a0in\u00a0collaboration\u00a0with\u00a0CCRT,\u00a0Dwarka;\u00a0 Mata\u00a0Sundari\u00a0College, Delhi\u00a0and Indian Culture\u00a0portal. This would be followed by a one-day Museum Educators\u2019 meet which would see the participation of various\u00a0central and state government museums across Delhi. The Museum is collaborating with the Heritage Lab, Flow\u00a0India, Access for All and \u2018Heritage for the Educators\u2019 meet. The Educators\u2019 Meet is NM\u2019s pilot initiative, which\u00a0has been conceptualized with an attempt at bringing government museum educators together on one platform to\u00a0share\u00a0and\u00a0discuss\u00a0about opportunities,\u00a0challenges\u00a0and\u00a0their\u00a0achievable solutions.<\/p>\n

The National Museum will be open for extended opening hours on May 18, 19 and 20th\u00a0i.e. from 10: am to 9:00\u00a0pm. And keeping this in consideration, the museum has designed gallery walks lead by curators, consultants and\u00a0senior NM walk leaders, hands-on activities for children and activity counters for walk-in\u00a0visitors, a special\u00a0session with NM conservators etc.\u00a0The museum is also organizing dedicated walks and activities for children\u00a0representing\u00a0different\u00a0NGOs.<\/p>\n

Every evening there will be special live performances in the National Museum Auditorium. All performances will\u00a0start\u00a0at\u00a07:00\u00a0pm\u00a0each\u00a0day.\u00a0The\u00a0SADHO\u00a0Band\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0performing\u00a0Sufi\u00a0Music\u00a0on\u00a0May\u00a018th,<\/p>\n

Sudha\u00a0Jagannath\u00a0and\u00a0her\u00a0ofBrihanayika\u00a0Natryasurabhe\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0performing\u00a0Bharatnatyam\u00a0on\u00a0May\u00a019th,<\/p>\n

while\u00a0Shagun\u00a0Butani\u00a0and her group\u00a0from\u00a0Sudhayaa\u00a0Dance\u00a0Foundation\u00a0would\u00a0present\u00a0ABHISAAR,<\/p>\n

an\u00a0Odissi\u00a0performance\u00a0compositions from the traditional repertoire of Odissi that find an echo in some of the artefacts at display in the\u00a0National\u00a0Museum.<\/p>\n

The National Museum offers a unique rendezvous with ideas and experiences for visitors of all age groups,\u00a0backgrounds and interests, and NM has been working towards creating interest and awareness towards history, and\u00a0arts\u00a0among\u00a0different\u00a0audiences. International Museum Day is celebrated by museums across the globe on May 18th,\u00a0with the aim to generate\u00a0awareness about the significant role of museums in community building, national and international cooperation as\u00a0well\u00a0as\u00a0cultural\u00a0exchange.<\/p>\n
