Manohar Lal today said that at present Haryana is releasing more than 1049 cusecs of water to Delhi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u201cWe can\u2019t deprive Haryana of its water and give Delhi more than their legitimate share,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u201cInstead of doing petty politics on the water issues, the Delhi Government should convince Punjab Government to release Haryana\u2019s legitimate share of water at the earliest. I promise that the day Punjab will give our share, Haryana will increase Delhi\u2019s current water share,\u201d said Sh. Manohar Lal while addressing a Press Conference here today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Chief Minister said that whenever the Delhi Jal Board knocks the doors of both Supreme and High court, it has always been proved that Haryana is releasing more than 1049 cusecs of water from Munak headworks to Delhi against their share of 719 cusecs, thus providing Yamuna water to Delhi as per Upper Yamuna River Board (UYRB) allocation existing on this date.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u201cHaryana has been supplying water to Hyderpur Water Treatment Plant, Nangloi Water Treatment Plant and Wazirabad\/Chandrawal Water Treatment Plant in Delhi,\u201d said the Chief Minister.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0He said that on February 29, 1996 Supreme Court had directed Haryana to provide an additional 330 cusecs of water per day to Delhi. Earlier, Delhi&#8217;s share in water was 719 cusecs per day. In compliance with these orders, Delhi is being given 1049 cusecs of water every day. Delhi government is now lying about the water issue, which is very unfortunate, said Sh. Manohar Lal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u201cTime and again we have clarified that Delhi is getting its legitimate share. The Delhi Government should understand that it is not the responsibility of Haryana alone to meet their drinking water requirement. Like us they too can also plan on formulating water management schemes,&#8221; said Sh. Manohar Lal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>No power shortage in Haryana now<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Chief Minister said that in the last few days, the State had certainly faced power shortage of up to 1800 MW. This power shortage was due to non-availability of power from multiple sources and as summers too had arrived earlier.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The electricity consumption has increased this year as compared to last year. At present the demand for electricity is 700 to 800 lakh units more than last year. Also, presently the maximum demand of the state has reached 9874 MW while the power supply is also 9874 MW. Since May 16, we have been able to supply electricity equal to the consumption, informed the Chief Minister.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0He further informed that\u00a0\u00a0Haryana has also started getting 600 MW power from Adani unit and more power is likely to come. Also by May 30, additional 600 MW power is likely to be available from Khedar Unit-2, informed Sh. Manohar Lal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Chief Minister further informed that the State has started getting 26 MW power from solar and windmill and by June 15, 127 MW more solar power will be available.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0With the increased availability, the supply schedule for AP subscribers will be increased to uninterrupted eight hours per day. This demand is likely to increase even more from June 1 as paddy cultivation would start and from June 15 the sowing of paddy will start, shared Sh. Manohar Lal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0He further informed that 6.61 lakh tube wells are running in the state every day for the cultivation of paddy. Due to which the demand for electricity will increase to 24 crore units. Keeping this in view, 300 MW electricity has been arranged from Jammu and Kashmir for the supply of this power.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u201cThere is also a plan to set-up power plants outside the state. Besides this, various power saving measures has also been adopted by the State, \u201d said Sh. Manohar Lal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>A total of 1.56 crore LED bulbs have been distributed so far<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Chief Minister shared that a total of 1.56 crore LED bulbs have been distributed so far to domestic consumers under the UJALA scheme. This has resulted in savings of 2027 million units per year and a reduction of 406 MW in peak demand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Besides this, a total of 2,13,302 LED tube lights have been distributed so far to the domestic consumers under this scheme. This has resulted in energy savings of 9.34 million units per year and 4 MW reductions in peak demand as per the UJALA portal dashboard, informed the Chief Minister.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0He said that a total of 60,709 energy efficient fans have been distributed to domestic consumers under the UJALA scheme. This has resulted in savings of 5.65 million units of energy per year and reduction of peak demand by 2 MW.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Haryana is all set for Khelo India Youth Games-2022<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Chief Minister Haryana is all set to host the upcoming Khelo India-2024 competitions to be held from June 4 to June 13, 2022. During this grand sports festival, various games would be organized in Panchkula, Ambala, Shahabad and Delhi. About 8500 sportspersons across the country will participate in this competition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u201cHaryana is fully prepared to host the players. We have made all the required arrangements including food, accommodation and transportation of the players to make this event a memorable one for both the spectators and players,\u201d said Sh. Manohar Lal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>State-level functions to celebrate Maharishi Kashyap and Sant Kabir Jayanti<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Chief Minister shared that a state-level function would be held to celebrate the birth anniversary of Maharishi Kashyap in Karnal on May 24, 2022. Similarly, another such function would be organized on the occasion of Sant Kabirdas Jayanti on June 14, 2022.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. D. S. Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary, and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Sh. P. K. Das, Additional Chief Secretary, Town and Country Planning and Urban Estates Department, Sh.
