KARGIL, MAY 28, 2022:-\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong> Department of Political Science, Government Model Degree College Zanskar on Friday organized a one-day field trip to Panchayat halqa Karsha and Padum for a detailed study of government flagship schemes like MGNREGA and SBM.<\/p>\n

It was aimed to enhance critical thinking, and theoretical knowledge and provide practical knowledge to the students of political science.<\/p>\n

Chairman BDC Karsha Lobzang Namgail and Lambardar welcome the HOD Political Science Tsewang Gailtsen Assistant Professor Political Science and students with traditional Khatas in the community hall.<\/p>\n

Tsewang Gailtsen briefed about the role of the Panchayati Raj system, its origin, and its functions.<\/p>\n

BDC Chairman Lobsang Namgail shared his experiences with the Panchayati Raj system in Zanskar and also highlighted the various schemes in Karsha Block.<\/p>\n

Further, the students also visited various sites to have a look at works and developments going under MGNRGA and SBM Schemes.<\/p>\n

The students also visited Padum Panchayat Halqa and interacted with BDC Chairman, BDO, and Sarpanches at Panchayat Ghar Padum. Incharge BDO Lotus briefed the students about the schemes.<\/p>\n

Lobsang Dolma Sarpanch Ufti-Pibiting highlighted the role and schemes of the Panchayat. She also stressed the importance of Panchayat in the current scenario and the role of women in politics and the political system.<\/p>\n

Later, Tsewang Gailtsen presented a vote of thanks to BDC, BDO, Lambardar, and Sarpanches for their support and for providing information about the schemes.<\/p>\n
