A delay in treatment would have caused chronic ulcers in the\u00a0<b>Patient\u2019s<\/b>\u00a0leg.<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Unable to bear the pain and discomfort,\u00a0<b>thePatient<\/b>approached\u00a0<b>Dr Ravul Jindal, Director, Vascular Surgery, Fortis Hospital Mohali,<\/b>\u00a0on 29<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0April this year. A Doppler ultrasound scan revealed impaired valves in the left leg and darkening of the skin, known as\u00a0<b>Stage C3<\/b>, which is characterized by acute swelling in the legs (Edema).<\/p>\n<p>The team of doctors led by\u00a0<b>Dr Jindal\u00a0<\/b>conducted\u00a0<b>Foam Sclerotherapy\u00a0<\/b>of the diseased vein.<b>Foam Sclerotherapy\u00a0<\/b>is used to treat bulging varicose veins and spider veins. The\u00a0<b>Patient<\/b>\u00a0was discharged on the same day of the procedureand was able to walk without support. She has recovered and leading a normal life today.<a name=\"m_1629592857452048712_m_6269648522073862243_m_-1208988619673063096_m_-3375797937881937369__GoBack\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Stating that varicose can be treated successfully through the latest technological advancements,\u00a0<b>Dr Jindal<\/b>, added,\u00a0<i>\u201cA wide range of advanced treatment options are available for varicose veins. The procedure is less painful and takes about 30 minutes. A patient has an early recovery and can go home within an hour of the procedure.
