Ration card scam exposed in Sirsa<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vigilance inquiry marked in the said scam after suspicion over DFSC investigation, Bhupeshwar Dayal<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chandigarh, July 5 –<\/strong> CM Window system started by the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal to directly address the grievances of the general public by reaching the Chief Minister’s office is highly appreciated by the public.\u00a0 Meanwhile, taking major action on the complaint on ration card scam in Sirsa, a vigilance inquiry has been marked.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Divulging more details, Sh. Bhupeshwar Dayal, OSD to the Chief Minister, who is monitoring the complaints on the CM window from the Headquarters Chandigarh, Prem Jain, a resident of Bhim Colony had lodged a complaint against the District Food and Supply Controller (DFSC), Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Sirsa alleging that the officers and employees of the office are working\u00a0 hand in gloves to collect the fee in lieu of\u00a0 making corrections in about 30,000 ration cards, as the said fee amount is not being deposited in the treasury.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sh. Bhupeshwar Dayal further shared that talking strict cognizance of the said allegations; stringent action was taken by the Chief Minister’s Office.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 DFSC, Sirsa has informed that on January 19, 2021, an amount of Rs 38,800 had been deposited by the department.\u00a0 But the CM window was misled and the department was then asked to file the matter again with the CM Window.\u00a0 It was also informed that an amount of Rs. 8, 88,935 was deposited as a ration card fee by various offices of the district, shared Sh. Bhupeshwar Dayal.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He said that when the Chief Minister’s Office directly contacted the complainant, he informed that he was never made a party in the investigation nor his signature was taken while submitting the final report.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sh. Bhupeshwar Dayal said that as per the guidelines of CM Window, it is mandatory to have the signatures of the complainant as well as the eminent citizen while submitting the final report of action taken by the department on any complaint.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sh. Bhupeshwar Dayal said that later in the complaint it was also informed that though in the said scam the recovery of Rs. 16 to 17 lakh should have been made while actually only\u00a0 Rs. 8.88 lakh has been recovered.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Later a fresh complaint was filed on CM Window in which it was claimed that without investigating the allegations made against the District Manager, CONFED, the Inquiry Officer submitted its report to the Chief Minister’s Office.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The matter was reviewed by the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V. Umashankar and it was decided to mark a vigilance inquiry into the entire matter.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It was also informed that in the years 2015 and 2016, CONFED District Office, Sirsa has issued ration in less quantity to the depot holder Prem Chandra Jain Baruwali-I, against the prescribed quantity.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Therefore, the Chief Minister’s Office has directed to conduct a vigilance inquiry into the matter along with issuing the pending ration to the depot holder. Apart from this, orders have also been given to recover Rs. 23395 from the salary of Inspector Kashmiri Lal, who is presently working in District Food and Supplies Controller, Kaithal, and deposit the same in the government treasury.<\/p>\n
