KARGIL, JULY 17, 2022 :-\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n

Ladakh Disaster Management Authority (LDMA) and District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in collaboration with 8 Mountain Division, 6th Batallion, the Madras Regiment today concluded the 12-day long disaster management training for the last batch of local youth in Kargil under Aapda Mitra scheme. The training is also supported by National Disaster Management Authority.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Chief Agriculture Officer Kargil, Kacho Mohammad Ali Khan, Major Deepak Walia, officials of DDMA and 8th Mountain Division were present on the occasion.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
In the 12-day long training, the volunteers were trained in controlling fire, first aid, rope rescue, lifting, emergency stretcher making and rapid action in emergency situations.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
While addressing the volunteers, Major Deepak Walia appreciated the volunteers for taking part in the training and learning techniques.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He further said that climate change is a major concern across the globe which is causing unpredictable disasters for which training on disaster management is necessary.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He instructed the trainees to equip themselves with more knowledge in the field and always keep themselves ready for any kind of disaster.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
DCAO Mohd Ali Khan congratulated the volunteers on completing the training and becoming members of the District Disaster Management Authority.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He further said the training is not limited to taking the training but also to serve the same for the benefit of society and mankind. He said the best worship is to serve mankind and do social work.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Khan instructed the volunteers to make judicious and proper use of the equipment and also disseminate the skill they learned from the training to others.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The local volunteers thanked the NDMA, LDMA, DDMA, and 8 Mountain Division for providing them training. Pertinently, 36 volunteers from AJUIA, IKMT, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Ex-Servicemen and other local volunteers took part in the training session.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The CAO Ali Khan also distributed certificates of appreciation, first aid kit, Aapda Mitra uniform and other necessary equipment for disaster management.<\/div>\n
