National Unity Day is celebrated at Drass, Zanksar, Sankoo, Shakar Chiktan<\/strong><\/div>\n

Kargil, October 31, 2022:<\/div>\n

The National Unity Day (Rastriya Ekta Diwas), commemorating Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary was held today across the Kargil district with ith patriotic fervor and enthusiasm, and special programs and run for unity were held across places.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The celebration of the Run for Unity in Sankoo was headed by charge SDM Sankoo Sajjad Hussain. Prior to starting the Run for Unity in Sankoo, the officers highlighted the importance of Rastriya Ekta Diwas Day to participants.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Thereafter run for unity was held from SDM Office Sankoo to Alamdar Chowk Sankoo and vice-versa in which all the officers\/officials of the Sub Division participated.<\/div>\n

In the end, the incharge SDM extended good wishes and thanked to all the participants for making the event successful.<\/div>\n

In Drass, the celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was organized by Government Degree College Drass in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Kargil.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Around 40 students from the college and Higher Secondary School Drass took part in the Run for Unity. The event was aimed to spread the message of the spirit of unity, integrity, and harmony among people.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The run culminated with a pledge-taking ceremony at GDC Drass in which students and faculty members pledged to preserve the unity, integrity, and security of the nation.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Similarly, National Unity Day was also held at Shakar Chiktan. It was headed by charge SDM Shakar Chiktan, Ghulam Rasool. He highlighted the importance of Rastriya Ekta Diwas Day to the participants.<\/div>\n

After taking the pledge, the Run for Unity was started from SDM Headquarters Chiktan to KGBV School Chiktan which was participated by officers and officials. In the end, the charge SDM thanked all the participants for attending the event.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is celebrated in India on 31 October. It was introduced by the Government of India in 2014. The day is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who had a major role in the political integration of India.<\/div>\n

Similarly, the Run for Unity was also celebrated in Zanskar Sub Division and the event was held at Govt. Higher Secondary School Padum where a pledge-taking ceremony was held.<\/div>\n

The event was presided by incharge SDM Zanskar Tsewang Rigzin. Incharge Tehsildar Zanskar, BDO Zanskar, SHO Zanskar, Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School, Padum, Ladakh Police, officials of the Information Department, students, NCC Cadets, media fraternity and other officials were present on the occasion.<\/div>\n

The incharge SDM took a pledge in presence of students, staff, and other participants and highlighted the services of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for the nation.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Run for unity was also celebrated in more than 20 locations in the subdivision organized by the administration in collaboration with Education Department, Youth Services and Sports Department, and private educational institutes in different areas.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
