Our world is a strange place where everything is uncertain. <\/span>We never know what can happen in the blink of the eye. The most uncertain thing, out of all, is the question of life and death. <\/span>You could be talking to your loved one this moment and they might <\/span>go to eternal sleep in the next. Thus, it is important to value a person while they are with us as their loss can never be filled with anything. One such <\/span>great<\/span> loss is that of the great <\/span>Pandit<\/span>: <\/span>Shradharam<\/span> Phillauri<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Everybody knows him well because of his great creation: \u201cOm Jai <\/span>Jagdish<\/span> Hare\u201d<\/span>. On every auspicious Hindu occasion, the <\/span>worship of God starts<\/span> with this great hymn. <\/span>Everyday when gods are worshipped in temples, we do not forget to recite this great hymn. <\/span><\/p>\n

Tracing his roots, <\/span>Panditji<\/span> was born on 30<\/span>th<\/span> September, <\/span>1837 in <\/span>Phillauri<\/span>, Punjab. He belonged to a Brahmana <\/span>family. <\/span>His father was Jai <\/span>Dayal<\/span> while mother was Vishnu Devi. <\/span>Pandit<\/span> Ji had a sharp intellect <\/span>and imbibed knowledge quickly from his first Guru: <\/span>Pandit<\/span>Ramchandra<\/span>. At a young age he learnt almost all languages from <\/span>Punjabi to Sanskrit. He also <\/span>learnt<\/span>astrology and music. <\/span>He married Bibi <\/span>Mehtab<\/span> Kaur and named his home \u201cTemple Of Knowledge\u201d.<\/span> He read the great epics and imparted great knowledge to people who listened to him patiently and with curiosity. <\/span>He is believed to be a favourite of <\/span>Saraswati<\/span> Goddess because he had a gifted voice with a musical sense. <\/span><\/p>\n

Panditji<\/span> also contributed greatly is eliminating British from India. The \u00a0British government ousted him from his hometown on terms of suspicion and it was only with help of father of Ludhiana, Newton, that he returned home. <\/span>Religion conversion was at peak in Punjab and to eliminate it, he made great efforts by educating people about the Indian Culture. He wrote the great book- <\/span>\u201c Punjabi <\/span>Batcheet<\/span>\u201d which was the key to<\/span> Punjabi culture and language. <\/span><\/p>\n

He died at the age of 44 on <\/span>24 June, 1881 but left behind a great legacy which we can never forget. He would always be remembered for his great works and his creation of the hymn- \u201c<\/span>Om Jai <\/span>Jagdish<\/span> Hare\u201d. To honour him a trust named <\/span>Shradharam<\/span> Phillauri<\/span> Charitable Trust was also created.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
