Commissioner\/Secretary, Tourism, Culture, Labour and Employment, UT Ladakh, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan on Wednesday chaired a review meeting on progress of on-going works, both physical and financial, of various departments at Tourism Development Authority Office, Kargil.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Assistant Labour Commissioner, Kargil; Deputy Director (Employment), Kargil; Senior Librarian, District Library, Kargil besides other concerned officers were present during the meeting.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The Commissioner\/Secretary sought details regarding status of on-going and new works and expenditures under State Sector and SDP as on September 30th 2023. He also reviewed the performance of departments during the period from April to September 2023.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
He instructed the officials from the Labour Department to conduct a thorough review of both the expenditure and the progress of ongoing projects. He emphasized on the need to expedite the booking of payments against work done so that the released funds are spent expeditiously.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The Commissioner\/Secretary emphasized on the importance of expediting the process of recording expenditures in line with the physical accomplishments achieved thus far.<\/div>\n

The Commissioner\/Secretary directed the concerned officers for providing facilities in the district and sub-district libraries, which are functional as on date. He emphasised that the ongoing work on district library building be completed at the earliest without compromising with the quality & quantity as per the DPR.<\/div>\n

Comprehensive discussion and deliberation took place concerning the ongoing works and booking of payment of verified work done bills. The Commissioner\/Secretary directed the concerned officials to ensure that all expenses and billing status are submitted by end of October 2023.<\/div>\n

Earlier, the Commissioner\/Secretary chaired a meeting to discuss ongoing works under SDP and State Sector in Kargil district with the officers of Tourism Department and Tourism Development Authority, Kargil.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
During the meeting, detailed discussion and deliberations took place and the Commissioner\/Secretary took assessment of the status of physical and financial progress of various infrastructure works.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The Commissioner\/Secretary directed that under State Sector as well SDP maximum booking of verified work done bills must be done to achieve maximum expenditure by the end of October.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The Commissioner\/Secretary directed to ensure timely completion of projects so that new projects can be conceived and planned.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Further, he reiterated that the new approved works under SDP must be undertaken for preparation of DPR. The Commissioner\/Secretary also directed to expedite the tendering process of approved works where administrative approval has been accorded.<\/div>\n

The Commissioner\/Secretary also gave directions that cleanliness drive in collaboration with RDD\/ULB and the tourism stakeholders should be organised frequently as per a calendar.<\/div>\n

The Commissioner\/Secretary also asserted that excess\/surrender statement should be submitted before October 20.<\/div>\n

The meeting was attended by the Director (Tourism)(through VC); Superintending Engineer (Tourism), Kargil; CEO, Tourism Development Authority, Kargil; AEE, CPWD, Kargil, Accounts Officer (Tourism) and other officials.<\/div>\n
