The\u00a010th<\/sup>\u00a0Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit<\/strong>, with the theme \u201cGateway to Future\u201d a strategic global platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and strategic partnerships, is ongoing in Gujarat from 10-12 Jan 2024. The Summit inaugurated by the Hon\u2019ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, had over\u00a01000 participants<\/strong>\u00a0from partner countries and organisations, several pioneering leaders from industry, international financial institutions and media. In his address the Hon\u2019ble Prime Minister highlighted that strengthening of\u00a0India\u2019s infrastructure and logistics ecosystem<\/strong>, along with plans to develop the regional India-Middle East-Europe Corridor (IMEEC),\u00a0are opening up several\u00a0investment opportunities<\/strong>\u00a0for industry and global partners.<\/p>\n

During the seminar on “PM GatiShakti: Informed Decision-Making for Holistic Development<\/strong>“,\u00a0<\/strong>focused discussions on how PM GatiShakti is revolutionising integrated infrastructure development at National and State level, took place. A\u00a0compendium<\/strong>\u00a0on best practices adopted by the State of Gujarat under its PM GatiShakti Gujarat initiative, was launched by\u00a0Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Textiles,\u00a0Sh. Piyush Goyal<\/strong>\u00a0and Hon\u2019ble Chief Minister Sh. Bhupendra Bhai Patel.<\/p>\n

Sh. Piyush Goyal<\/strong>\u00a0in his address mentioned how PM GatiShakti programme is\u00a0transforming<\/strong>\u00a0infrastructure planning landscape, through use of\u00a0cutting edge technology<\/strong>, that has contributed in terms of significant\u00a0reduction in time\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0cost overruns<\/strong>\u00a0in infrastructure projects. While congratulating the Hon\u2019ble Chief Minister and Government of Gujarat on the successful adoption of PM GatiShakti, he emphasised that\u00a0Gujarat\u2019s pro-active approach<\/strong>\u00a0has set an example for other States to follow. The\u00a0high utility and simple fundamentals<\/strong>\u00a0of the PM GatiShakti programme, has enabled easy adoption by States\/UTs and is contributing to the vision of a double-engine growth that is rooted in the\u00a0cooperative federalism<\/strong>\u00a0principles. He ascertained that PM GatiShakti will not only remain a planning tool for India, but it will be adopted as a planning tool by the entire world.<\/p>\n

Sh. Bhupendra Bhai Patel, during his address, emphasised that it is important to align Hon\u2019ble Prime Minister\u2019s vision to make\u00a0Amrit Kaal<\/strong>\u00a0a golden era for India\u2019s economy with effective planning and implementation of\u00a0sound infrastructure development<\/strong>\u00a0projects.\u00a0PM GatiShakti<\/strong>\u00a0National Master Plan is conceptualised covering citizen services, industries, businesses, manufacturers, agriculture and farmers and rural systems. The\u00a0GIS platform<\/strong>\u00a0facilitates seamless coordination, physical and financial monitoring, and timely completion of projects. Thus, it can be concluded that through PM GatiShakti (PMGS), a\u00a0comprehensive vision<\/strong>\u00a0from integrated infrastructure planning to implementation, can be achieved.<\/p>\n

While setting the context in this session,\u00a0Smt. Sumita Dawra<\/strong>, Special Secretary, Logistics Division, MoCI, showcased the contribution of the PM GatiShakti programme towards integrated planning and creation of\u00a0Next Generation Infrastructure<\/strong>, and promoting\u00a0people-centric development<\/strong>. She used this opportunity to showcase some of the best use cases of PM GatiShakti in sectors including telecom, petroleum and natural gas, renewable energy, area based planning, etc. These benefits also resonated with the success stories shared by other panellists from Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and State of Gujarat.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0Panel Discussion on\u00a0\u201cResilient Supply Chains and Smart Logistics\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>laid out a plethora of opportunities and developments in the logistics ecosystem, that are attracting cross-sectoral investments. Useful insights on\u00a0port-led development<\/strong>\u00a0model, convergence approach for good governance,\u00a0infrastructure<\/strong>\u00a0as a\u00a0facilitator of trade<\/strong>, positive impact of Atal Setu \u2013 Mumbai trans-harbor link on logistics movement in the surrounding area,\u00a0domestic innovations<\/strong>\u00a0like GST, ULIP, Logistics Data Bank, Digital Twin, and AI in logistics, in facilitating collaboration among various stakeholders in the logistics ecosystem, were discussed by the panellists.\u00a0Demand driven planning<\/strong>\u00a0on PMGS, and need for\u00a0standardisation<\/strong>\u00a0for easier cross-border flows, are among the few parameters that are forming a part of the road map for 2030, using technology for efficient logistics ecosystem.<\/p>\n

The pro-active approach of Government of India (GoI) in respect of (i) G20 Delhi declaration on global value chains (ii) supply chain arrangements under Supply Chain Resilience Initiative (SCRI) 2021, Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) and South Asia Sub-Regional Economic Cooperation (SASEC), are all aimed at strengthening\u00a0partnerships<\/strong>\u00a0for resilient and sustainable supply chains. Further, GoI\u2019s reforms and schemes such as PLI, Make In India, PMGS, Bharatmala, Sagarmala, liberalisation of FDI regime, Free trade Agreements, etc. are strengthening\u00a0investment flows and manufacturing<\/strong>\u00a0to progressively integrate supply chains in the country and make them more resilient.<\/p>\n

Recognizing the crucial role of PM GatiShakti in driving progress in various sectors, this seminar\u00a0brought key stakeholders together\u00a0to explore strategies and foster a culture of informed, data-driven decision-making for comprehensive and sustainable growth.
