\u200b\u200bFor the promotion of art, literature, culture and theatre in Chandigarh, the Department of Cultural Affairs, Chandigarh Administration and Tagore Theatre Society is organizing 4-days Theatre Festival with Repertory Company National School of Drama from 14th to 17th January 2024 at Tagore Theatre, Sector 18, Chandigarh. The timing of the show will be from 6:30 pm onwards and entry to the show will be free.\u200b\u200b<\/div>\n

During the Festival four plays i.e. \u201cAndha Yug\u201d on 14th January, \u201cLaila Majnun\u201d on 15th January, \u201cMaai Ri Mein Ka Se Kahun\u201d on 16th January and \u201cBabuji\u201d on 17th January, 2024.\u200b\u200b<\/div>\n

The Famous modern classic play \u201cAndha Yug\u201d is a poetic play written by Dharamveer Bharti & Directed by one of living legend Prof. Ram Gopal Bajaj and is based on the events of the last day of the Mahabharata war, which shows the human crisis and experience of the merging of the universe, the transition of the universe and the deep compassion of all human beings.\u200b<\/div>\n

Another unique play: \u201cLaila Majnun\u201d written by Ismail Choonara & Directed by one of living legend Prof. Ram Gopal Bajaj is a poem of love in which Laila Majnun’s regrets are narrated in the style of a traditional poetry and drama in which two young people growing up in the atmosphere of the nomadic Bedu community of the Middle East in the beginning of the 7th century.\u200b\u200bThe story \u201cMaai Ri Main Ka Se Kahoon\u201d, written by Vijaydan Detha & directed by Sh. Ajay Kumar is the conflict between a woman’s desire and her emotions and social restrictions. In this Society that claims to have reached the pinnacle of science and intelligence, even today a woman is not free to exercise her mental and physical rights \u2013 rather she has to weigh her every wish and reluctance against male-dominated thoughts. Since when has a woman’s entire personality and entire existence been divided into two parts? From birth till marriage, all her rights are with her parents and after marriage, with her husband and children.\u200b\u200b<\/div>\n

Live Musical play \u2018Babuji\u2019 based on Mithileshwar ji, story written by Vibhanshu Vaibhav & Directed by Sh. Rajesh Singh represents one of the ways in our society that wants to live life with its freedom and conditions. Hero of the drama Babuji is a man who wants to keep his inner artist alive along with social responsibilities in his life. His fondness in folk dance like nautanki, but his love for this gimmick also destroys his family life. The wife, son, his own companions and people of the society do not support him. He is pushed out of his own house. Despite all this, his dedication and love for art does not diminish. The echo of Tabla and the harmonium stays with him till his last breath.<\/div>\n
