This decision follows a thorough assessment of the security and law and order situation by the Senior Superintendent of Police, UT, Chandigarh.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0As per the provisions outlined in Section 38 of the Punjab Municipal Corporation Act, 1976, extended to the Union Territory, Chandigarh, and Section 60(a) read with Regulation 6(1) of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation (Procedure and Conduct of Business) Regulations, 1996, the meeting for the election of Mayor will be convened by the Divisional Commissioner\/Prescribed Authority.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0Vinay Pratap Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, in the capacity of Prescribed Authority, has nominated Sh. Anil Masih, Councilor, as the Presiding Authority for this significant meeting. Sh.
