The impact of PM GatiShakti will be enhanced at district level.\u00a0Using PMGS NMP will insure\u00a0first and last-mile connectivity<\/b>\u00a0of available and planned economic and social infrastructure in districts and will facilitate the effective implementation of existing schemes and programmes.\u00a0<\/span>This will facilitate comprehensive, holistic and integrated area development planning, which will improve\u00a0Ease of Living\u00a0<\/b>as wel las\u00a0Ease of Doing Business<\/b>\u00a0and promote\u00a0Green Logistics<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

This was revealed in a\u00a0<\/span><\/span>District level capacity building workshop<\/span><\/b>\u00a0organised by Logistics Division of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt of India, with the support of BISAG-N and State Govt, in Bhopal\u00a0<\/span>to extend the outreach of\u00a0PMGS adoptation by\u00a0aspirational districts<\/b>\u00a0of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

District level outreach is expected to give vigour to Area Development Planning for both economic and social infrastructure at field level in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop was\u00a0inaugurated\u00a0<\/b>by\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Smt. Sumita Dawra, Special Secretary, DPIIT (Logistics), Shri Navneet Mohan Kothari, MD, MPIDC and Shri E. Srinivas, Joint Secretary, DPIIT (Logistics) along with District Collectors from Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Senior officers from Central Ministries, State Governments and District level officials of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, representing Infrastructure and Social Sectors; along with other relevant stakeholders including from Niti Aayog and BISAG-N.<\/span><\/p>\n

It may be noted here that PM GatiShakti (PMGS) National Master Plan (NMP) was launched by the PM Shri Narendra Modi in\u00a02021<\/b>. It is\u00a0a transformative approach<\/b>\u00a0for integrated planning of\u00a0multimodal connectivity<\/b>\u00a0to various economic zones, using indigenous technology and innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n

PM GatiShakti\u2019s\u00a0twin framework<\/b>\u00a0including an\u00a0inter-ministerial institutional mechanism<\/b>\u00a0at the Centre and State levels, and a\u00a0GIS-data-based decision support system<\/b>\u00a0for integrated planning in the logistics and infra sector, is powering infrastructure planning and development in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since the launch of PMGS NMP, successful use cases<\/b>\u00a0by Infra and Social sector Ministries \/Departments and States\/UTs have been demonstrated. Holistic and integrated planning of defined areas on PM GatiShakti principles is now being adopted under the \u2018Area Development Approach<\/b>\u2019 initiatives.<\/span><\/p>\n

District Collectors<\/span><\/b>\u00a0possess unique and comprehensive understanding of their respective districts, specific challenges, priorities and infrastructure requirements, and can also verify data at their level. Hence, as a logical next step, the outreach of\u00a0PMGS<\/b>\u00a0is being taken to\u00a0<\/span>district level.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

It was informed that\u00a0several\u00a0<\/b>cases have been identified under PMGS NMP by Infrastructure and Social Sector Ministries and States\/ UTs. Ministry of Tribal Affairs has used PM GatiShakti to conduct a\u00a0comprehensive analysis of 23000 tribal habitations\u00a0<\/b>under PM-JANMAN (Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan) initiative.\u00a035 interventions\u00a0<\/b>such as water, power, telecom and internet connectivity, education and health have been identifiedto bridge\u00a0last mile connectivity<\/b>\u00a0for\u00a0service delivery to these habitations<\/b>. The project alignment of\u00a0Lakhnadon – Raipur Greenfield corridor<\/b>\u00a0that connects NH-44 in the state of Madhya Pradesh with NH-30 in Chhattisgarh has been optimized using the PMGS NMP portal. It will also improve connectivity\u00a0with 5 Major Railway Stations, 3 Airports, and 1 multimodal logistics park<\/b>\u00a0to improve multi-modal transportation. A\u00a0Handbook<\/b>\u00a0for District Collectors that serves as a useful guidebook for onboarding district officers was distributed among all concerned stakeholders.<\/span><\/p>\n
