The Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Union Territory Chandigarh, Shri Banwari Lal Purohit\u00a0hosted a captivating cultural program to commemorate the\u00a0foundation\u00a0day of Uttar Pradesh\u00a0at\u00a0Punjab Raj\u00a0Bhawan.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, he extended\u00a0his\u00a0heartfeltgreetings and best wishes to all the\u00a0countrymen and specially the people of\u00a0Uttar Pradesh.<\/p>\n

The Governor said that no matter which state, which community, caste or creed we belong to, we are Indians first and it is necessary to make all sections of the society aware and spread the message of\u00a0brotherhood.<\/p>\n

He said that today’s\u00a0celebrations\u00a0have\u00a0been\u00a0heldunder the ‘Ek\u00a0Bharat-Shreshtha\u00a0Bharat’ program\u00a0and added\u00a0that\u00a0such celebrations play an important role in the promotion of\u00a0national\u00a0integration.<\/p>\n

He also thanked the Honorable Prime Minister of\u00a0India,\u00a0Shri\u00a0Narendra\u00a0Modi\u00a0for\u00a0conceptualizing\u00a0this positive initiative to promote brotherhood and cultural bonding.<\/p>\n

During the function, a colorful cultural program depicting the diverse culture of Uttar Pradesh was presented by the students of the college located in Sector 11 and 42, Chandigarh. The program started with\u00a0Shri\u00a0Ganesh\u00a0Vandana\u00a0followed by a mesmerizing presentation\u00a0of Ram\u00a0Bhajan,\u00a0Kashi\u00a0KeKabir\u00a0and\u00a0Ramayan\u00a0Ki\u00a0Chaupaiyan\u00a0including\u00a0folk music and dances of Uttar Pradesh which enthralled the guests present.<\/p>\n

Prominent people present on the occasion included\u00a0MLA, Dr. Vijay\u00a0Singla,\u00a0Mayor,\u00a0M.C., Chandigarh, Mr.\u00a0Anup\u00a0Gupta,\u00a0Additional Solicitor General of India,\u00a0Shri\u00a0Satyapal\u00a0Jain,\u00a0AdditionalChief Secretary to the Governor of Punjab,\u00a0Shri\u00a0K.
