Eight lakh National Cadet Corps\u00a0(NCC)\u00a0cadets\u00a0celebrated the\u00a010th\u00a0International Day\u00a0of Yoga\u00a0by participating in yoga sessions\u00a0organised\u00a0by NCC\u00a0across the country\u00a0on June 21, 2024.\u00a0The\u00a0sessions were organised at numerous schools,\u00a0colleges\u00a0&\u00a0iconic\u00a0locations including Sun Temple\u00a0(Konark, Odisha), Red Fort\u00a0(Delhi), Dal Lake\u00a0(Srinagar, J&K), Sabarmati Riverfront\u00a0(Ahmedabad, Gujarat), Sanchi Stupa\u00a0(Sanchi, MP), Gateway of India\u00a0(Mumbai, Maharashtra), Nainital Lake\u00a0(Nainital, Uttarakhand), Jhansi Fort\u00a0(Jhansi, UP), and Victoria Memorial\u00a0(Kolkata, WB).<\/p>\n

Chief of the Army Staff-designate Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, who is currently Vice Chief of the Army Staff,\u00a0led the celebrations at an\u00a0event organised by the Indian Army HQs, Delhi Area at the\u00a0Cariappa Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt. He performed asanas with DG NCC Lt Gen\u00a0Gurbirpal\u00a0Singh, other senior officers and about 250\u00a0NCC cadets.<\/p>\n

Addressing the cadets, the DG NCC\u00a0extolled the benefits of yoga\u00a0and\u00a0urged\u00a0them\u00a0to incorporate\u00a0the practice\u00a0in their daily routines to sustain physical\u00a0&\u00a0mental health.\u00a0\u201cYoga is an immensely powerful tool for augmenting our overall health and well-being. It ensures the harmony of body and mind, which is paramount for the holistic development of our youth,\u201d\u00a0he added.<\/p>\n
