A painting competition on the theme “Wildlife Conservation through Co-existence” was organized at Government Degree College, Drass, in collaboration with the Wildlife Department, Kargil, as part of the Wildlife Week celebrations being held from October 02-08.<\/div>\n

The event was aimed to raise awareness about the critical need for wildlife conservation while emphasizing the importance of fostering a harmonious relationship between humans and nature.The event was graced by Ghulam Hassanain, Range Officer, Drass, Kargil from the Wildlife Department, who was the guest of honor.<\/div>\n

The competition saw a highly enthusiastic response from the students, each offering a creative and unique interpretation of the theme.<\/div>\n

The artwork produced during the competition reflected the students’ deep understanding of the relationship between humans and wildlife, expressing both the beauty and fragility of nature.<\/div>\n

The paintings were evaluated by an expert panel, and students were awarded based on creativity, relevance to the theme, and artistic execution.<\/div>\n

The event was moderated by Dr. Talib Hussain, while Dr. Ajaz Lone welcomed the guests. Sajjad Hussain, Assistant Professor from Department of Environmental Science (EVS), delivered an inspiring talk on the importance of wildlife conservation, underscoring how critical it is for both local ecosystems and the global environment. His talk provided valuable insights into the role that individuals and communities can play in preserving wildlife.<\/div>\n

Ghulam Hassanain engaged in an interactive session with the students and audience, answering questions and discussing the challenges and opportunities for wildlife conservation in the region. He also expressed gratitude to the college administration for the smooth conduct of the program.<\/div>\n
