Chairman\/Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today chaired a meeting to discuss redevelopment projects for Kargil town and Baroo areas.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Executive Councillors Zakir Hussain, Kacho Mohd Feroz, and Er Punchok Tashi; Deputy Commissioner\/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse; Director FCS&CA; Director Urban and Local Bodies joined virtually, Administrator Municipality; Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil; Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR); Executive Officer Municipal Committee Kargil; and beside other sectoral heads attended the meeting.<\/div>\n

Councillors Baroo and Town constituency were also present to provide insights and discuss their constituencies\u2019 developmental priorities.<\/div>\n

During the meeting, Consultant Rigzin delivered a detailed presentation on various redevelopment projects planned for the Baroo area. The proposals included the development of green spaces, parking facilities, and other developmental activities to enhance the urban environment.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
It was decided in the meeting that the Deputy Commissioner Kargil will visit on-spot to conduct site visits and identify suitable sites for proposed redevelopment projects of Baroo.<\/div>\n

Regarding the construction of a mechanized multi-level parking facility in the main bazaar of Kargil, the Tehsildar informed the meeting that 4 kanals and 15 marlas of land are currently under the possession of various departments, including Tourism, FCS&CA, Handicrafts, Cooperatives and MC, Kargil .<\/div>\n

Further, it was decided that a committee will be formed under the chairmanship of ADC to facilitate the handover of these buildings to the Municipality.<\/div>\n

It was informed that temporary arrangements will be made for the affected departments to ensure smooth functioning during the redevelopment process.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The CEC emphasized that a follow-up meeting will be held at the end of the month to assess progress on the identified projects.<\/div>\n
