Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has stated that to ensure smooth movement of people and better connectivity in rural areas, action should be taken with a set timeline to connect 100% of the settlements in the state with roads. A scientific survey of the need for roads in all districts should be carried out and an action plan should be developed. The opinions of MLAs and Panchayat representatives should also be taken regarding the need for roads. The state government is committed to connecting all settlements with roads in the next three years. These instructions were given by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav during a review of the works under the Prime Minister\u2019s Gramin Sadak Yojana at a meeting of the Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority held at Samatv Bhavan at the Chief Minister\u2019s residence. The meeting was attended by Panchayat and Rural Development and Labor Minister Shri Prahlad Patel, Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajora, and senior officials.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized the need to remain alert and take prompt action for the repair and upgrading of roads damaged due to heavy rainfall, floods, and other causes. He directed that road maintenance and regular inspection should be made more effective by using mobile apps, geo-tagging, and AI technology. The survey of current traffic on roads and the work of upgrading and widening lanes should be prioritized.<\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting was informed that under the Prime Minister’s Jan-Man Yojana, the country’s first road was constructed from Pandatola to Bijatola in the Parasia area of the Balaghat district. Madhya Pradesh ranked first in the country for receiving incentive funds from the Government of India for road maintenance and upgrading. The e-road portal for road maintenance in the state, implemented since 2015-16, has been nationally recognized, and the central government has implemented it as the National E-Road across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was reported that of the 89,000 settlements in the state, 50,658 settlements have been connected with roads. The survey work for 11,544 settlements under the Prime Minister’s Gramin Sadak Yojana-4 has been completed. The state government is taking steps to connect the remaining 26,798 settlements. The meeting also reviewed the progress of the Prime Minister’s Gramin Sadak Yojana. It was informed that the online system for preparing the estimate for general maintenance work and obtaining technical and administrative approval is being ensured through the Samveg portal.<\/span><\/p>\n
