Haryana\u2019s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij said that today, \u201cThose who oppose Hindi are essentially opposing Hindustan, because Hindi is the mother tongue of Hindustan.\u201d He further asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is a nationalist party that has never played politics based on religion or caste. He added that the consistent rise in GST collection indicates that the country is on a path of progress. While criticizing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), he said the party has institutionalized the practice of luring voters using public funds.<\/p>\n

Sh. Vij made these remarks while responding to questions asked by media persons regarding the ongoing language controversy in Maharashtra.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that while everyone has the right to promote their respective languages and there should be no objection to that, saying \u201cwe will not allow Hindi to grow\u201d is unacceptable. Such attitudes, he said, threaten the federal structure of the country. Hindi, he asserted, acts as a unifying thread that binds the entire nation together.<\/p>\n

Responding to allegations made by a Samajwadi Party leader, who accused the BJP and terrorists of targeting people based on religion, Sh. Vij said the BJP is a nationalist party that has never practiced religion or caste-based politics. He hit back at the Samajwadi Party leader, saying such statements reflect a lack of knowledge, as they do not understand the true character of the BJP. He suggested that such individuals should first understand the BJP\u2019s ideology across India before making such remarks.<\/p>\n

Rising GST collection is a sign of economic growth \u2013 Vij<\/b><\/p>\n

On being asked about Rahul Gandhi\u2019s comment that GST has become a tool of economic injustice, Sh. Vij responded sharply, asking whether GST is being forcefully collected from anyone. He stated that ever since the implementation of GST, there has been a steady increase in its collection, indicating national growth. He added that \u201cIf businesses are growing, GST is collected. If employment is increasing, GST is collected. If people\u2019s purchasing power is rising, GST is collected. Hence, rising GST is a positive indicator, he said.\u201d<\/p>\n

AAP will remain grounded, the question of rising does not arise \u2013 Vij<\/b><\/p>\n

Responding to Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal\u2019s remarks on the party\u2019s defeat in Delhi being a matter of \u201cups and downs\u201d, Sh. Vij took a jibe saying, \u201cIf Mr. Kejriwal considers being up or down the same, may God keep him always down and never let him rise, since he sees both states as equal.\u201d He went on to say that Mr. Kejriwal has polluted Indian politics by using public money to lure voters, which became a common practice under the AAP regime.
