Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij today launched a scathing attack on Punjab\u2019s Aam Aadmi Party government over the SYL (Sutlej-Yamuna Link) issue. He said that the AAP government of Punjab\u2019s love for Pakistan is leaving Haryana thirsty. He added that the AAP wants Haryana to be denied SYL water, even if it means that the Ravi River’s water goes to Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Sh. Vij was responding to a question asked by media persons regarding the statement made by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann after a meeting held in Delhi the previous day between the Chief Ministers of Haryana and Punjab on the SYL issue. In that statement, Bhagwant Mann had said that the SYL issue should be permanently given up.<\/p>\n

Sh. Vij said that the Punjab government is denying Haryana its rightful share of water, which is crucial for the people and fields of Haryana. He emphasized that the Hon\u2019ble Supreme Court has already decision in favor of Haryana, yet the AAP government in Punjab continues to defy this decision. Sh. Vij reminded that even previous governments in Punjab had annulled this agreement.<\/p>\n

Similarly, taking a jab at Arvind Kejriwal\u2019s remarks about receiving an award, Sh. Anil Vij said that in a democracy, the biggest award is given by the people \u2014 and the people of Delhi have already given that award by voting Kejriwal and the AAP out of power. Sh. Kejriwal should be content with that, he said.<\/p>\n
