In five years, the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan has grown into a mass movement of awareness and social participation, says CM<\/p>\n

Youth are the nation\u2019s greatest strength \u2013 keeping them away from drugs and engaging them in constructive activities is the key to national progress, CM<\/p>\n

CM urges parents to guide and spend time with children to keep them on the right path<\/p>\n

Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan is not merely a government initiative but a people\u2019s movement, requiring active participation from youth, women, children, educational institutions, voluntary organisations, saints, and social bodies. Once the youth are freed from the grip of drugs, nothing can stop India from becoming a developed nation.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister was addressing the state-level function in Panchkula as the chief guest on the 5th anniversary of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan on Wednesday. Today, around 3 lakh people took an oath of de-addiction at various district-level programs across Haryana.<\/p>\n

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that on the initiative of the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment launched the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan on August 15, 2020, to lead the country towards a healthy, prosperous, and bright future and unite people against drug abuse.<\/p>\n

He said that the state government has resolved to make Haryana drug-free. Recently, a Cyclothon was organised in which lakhs of youth participated, pledging to stay away from drugs. The campaign has emerged as a large-scale mass movement, drawing participation from youth, women, children, educational institutions, and voluntary organisations, with support from saints and Khap panchayats.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister stated that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, India is progressing rapidly, becoming the world\u2019s fourth-largest economy, showcasing its strategic strength through \u2018Operation Sindoor\u2019, and achieving major successes in sports. The Prime Minister has set the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047, and Haryana is contributing to this journey by touching new heights of development, he said.<\/p>\n

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini emphasised that to sustain and accelerate national progress, it is essential to keep youth away from drugs and engage them in productive work. The campaign has, in the last five years, spread awareness and inspired society to break free from addiction, he said.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister said the government enacts strict laws against drug trafficking and ensures the harshest punishment for offenders. To strengthen enforcement, Haryana has established an inter-state secretariat in Panchkula with seven other states to share intelligence and coordinate anti-drug efforts. However, he noted, eliminating drugs from society cannot be achieved by law alone \u2013 public awareness, social participation, and especially youth engagement are essential, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.<\/p>\n

Parents must give time and guidance to children<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Chief Minister urged parents to spend time with their children, listen to them, and guide them in the right direction so they do not lose their way. He stressed that addiction not only destroys individuals but also weakens families and society. He called upon society to support and motivate addicts to quit rather than isolating them. He also administered an anti-drug pledge to those present.<\/p>\n

Quoting Prime Minister,\u00a0 he said that if India\u2019s youth channel their energy in a positive direction, no one can stop India from becoming the world\u2019s greatest power. Recalling Swami Vivekananda\u2019s words, he urged youth to \u201cArise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached.<\/p>\n

Saint commends CM\u2019s resolve for a drug-free Haryana<\/strong><\/p>\n

Saints present at the programme praised the government\u2019s steps for a brighter future for Haryana\u2019s youth and children, stressing that national progress is possible only when society is free from drugs. They termed addiction harmful not only to health but also to society and the nation\u2019s future, pledging full cooperation to make the campaign a success.<\/p>\n

Rajya Sabha MP Smt. Rekha Sharma, Panchkula Mayor Sh. Kulbhushan Goyal, former VIdhan Sabha Speaker Sh. Gian Chand Gupta and other dignitaries also remained present on this occasion.<\/p>\n
