Haryana Governor, Prof Ashim Kumar Ghosh<\/strong> along with his wife Smt Mitra Ghosh has adopted five TB patients by providing nutritional support under the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP).<\/p>\n

During the programme held at Haryana Raj Bhavan on Monday, State TB Officer Dr Rajesh Raju and WHO Nominee Dr Sukhwant briefed Governor Prof Ashim Kumar Ghosh on the progress of the TB campaign in the state.<\/p>\n

The Governor formally registered as a \u2018Nikshay Mitra\u2019 and assured full support to the state\u2019s mission of making Haryana TB-free.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, he emphasized the importance of collective action, urging every section of society to support TB patients and their families. \u201cLet us all work together to build a TB-free community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Governor highlighted that the Community Support Programme \u2013 \u2018Nikshay Mitra\u2019 was launched on September\u00a09,\u00a02022, by Hon\u2019ble President of India Smt Droupadi Murmu under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.<\/p>\n

The initiative aims to improve treatment outcomes by extending additional support for nutrition, testing, and vocational assistance during TB treatment.<\/p>\n

He further noted that in Haryana, the programme was launched on September\u00a017,\u00a02022, and in its first phase, nearly\u00a02,200\u00a0villages have already been declared TB-free.<\/p>\n

Appreciating the commendable efforts of the state government, he urged individuals, NGOs, corporate houses, self-help groups, and religious organizations to come forward and adopt TB patients as Nikshay Mitras.<\/p>\n

The fight against TB is a collective responsibility. With community participation and people\u2019s cooperation, we will achieve the goal of a TB-free Haryana,\u201d said Governor Prof Ashim Kumar Ghosh.<\/p>\n

Secretary to the Governor, Sh. DK Behera, Senior Private Secretary ,Sh. Jagan Nath Bains, Dr Rakesh Talwar, State TB Programmer Dr Jaskirat, Dr Sandeep Chhabra, and District TB Officer were also present on the occasion.<\/p>\n
