J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology announced \u2018JC Bose Excellence Award\u2019 in the field of Research and Innovation<\/h2>\n

Faridabad, December 2<\/p>\n

The J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad has announced to institute \u2018JC Bose Excellence Award\u2019 in the field of Research and Innovation on the 162nd birth anniversary of Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose. The award will be conferred to the promising students, researchers and faculty members for their research and innovation contributing the solution in society\u2019s problem.<\/p>\n

This was disclosed by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dinesh Kumar in the award ceremony of IoT Start-up Challenge 2020. Professor Dinesh Kumar said that \u2018JC Bose Excellence Award\u2019 would be conferred in two categories; one for faculty members and other for students and researcher scholars.<\/p>\n

The programme was presided over by eminent thinker and social reformer Indresh Kumar. MLA Faridabad, Narender Gupta and Director General, Software Technology Parks of India under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology Dr. Omkar Rai were also present on this occasion.<\/p>\n

\u00a0The University also announced to provide incubation facilities worth upto Rs. 3 lakh to the three innovative start-up projects of students which were declared as best in IoT Start-up Challenge 2020. However, a total of seven start-up ideas were selected by jury investors for technical and financial negotiation for investment. The jury investors have committed the assured funding of upto Rs. 5 crore to the students’ start-up projects.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Indresh Kumar, on behalf of Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Krishan Pal Gurjar inaugurated the Multipurpose Convention Hall \u2018Shakuntalam\u2019 in the University premise. Indresh Kumar also gave away prizes to the winner of IoT Start-up Challenge 2020.<\/p>\n

The \u2018IoT Start-up Challenge 2020\u2019 was hosted by the Technology Business Incubation Centre of J.C. Bose University to encourage and support students’ innovative Start-up ideas, to mark the birth anniversary of Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose.<\/p>\n

The winner of the IoT Start-up Challenge along-with first runner-up and second runner-up would be provided with the incubation facility of worth Rs. 3 Lakh, Rs 2 Lakh and Rs 1 Lakh respectively, in the University\u2019s Technology Business Incubation Centre. However, the Jury Investors have widened the scope of funding for the students start-up and selected a total of seven best teams including winners and runner-up for technical and financial negotiation round for investment. The jury investors have committed the assured funding of upto Rs. 5 Crore to the students’ start-up projects.<\/p>\n

In the concluding note, Dean Placement, Alumni and Corporate Affairs Professor\u00a0 Vikram Singh apprised that a total of more than 50 start-up ideas were received during IoT Start-up Challenge 2020, out of which 23 projects were shortlisted in the first round and 10 projects in the final round.<\/p>\n
