SEs and XENs to inspect quality of 18 roads every month and submit reports<\/strong><\/p>\n

Negligence in work won\u2019t be tolerated; no compromise on quality: Gangwa <\/strong><\/p>\n

Chandigarh, 13 November 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

Haryana\u2019s Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister, Sh. Ranbir Gangwa, announced that the Public Works Department (PWD) will soon establish a Vigilance Cell. This cell will investigate complaints related to the quality of road works, building constructions, and other departmental projects. In cases where irregularities are found, both legal and departmental actions will be ensured against those responsible.<\/p>\n

He further directed all Superintending Engineers (SEs) and Executive Engineers (XENs) to inspect the quality of 18 roads every month and send detailed reports to him.<\/p>\n

Cabinet Minister Sh. Ranbir Gangwa chaired a departmental review meeting at the Civil Secretariat on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary Sh. Hitesh Kumar Meena, EIC Sh. Rajeev Yadav, HSRDC MD Sh. V.S. Malik, SEs, XENs, and other officials from different regions, while SDOs joined online. District-wise progress reports and the status of road construction works were discussed in detail.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the Minister directed officials to immediately hand over completed building projects to the concerned departments.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that tenders related to road and building works must undergo mandatory scrutiny to ensure there is no compromise on quality. \u201cWhenever a road construction project is underway, the SDOs and JEs must remain present in the field and conduct regular inspections. If negligence is observed or complaints are received from the public, immediate action must be taken and a report submitted,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery officer has a responsibility to meet public expectations,\u201d said Sh. Gangwa, adding, \u201cThe days of delaying work by keeping files pending are over. The public now demands accountability, and we must deliver. I will personally monitor the progress.\u201d<\/p>\n

Review of \u2018Mhari Sadak\u2019 App status<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Minister also reviewed the status of the \u2018Mhari Sadak\u2019 mobile application. Officials informed that 6,523 complaints have been received so far, out of which 2,611 have been resolved. Sh. Gangwa said that this app serves as a direct bridge between the public and the department, and instructed that all pending complaints be resolved on priority.<\/p>\n

Special instructions on fog safety<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sh. Gangwa stated that with the fog season approaching, road safety must be given top priority. He directed officials to paint white road markings, install reflectors, and put up warning signboards immediately. \u201cVisibility decreases during winters, making this the most accident-prone time. Small preventive steps can save many lives,\u201d he said. \u201cRoads are not just a means of travel, but also a promise of safety.\u201d He directed officers across the state to complete all necessary preparations before the onset of the fog season.<\/p>\n

Despite winning five seats, Congress still cries foul<\/strong><\/p>\n

After the meeting, while interacting with media persons at his office in the Civil Secretariat, Cabinet Minister Sh. Ranbir Gangwa criticized the Congress. Responding to a question, he said, \u201cThe Congress continues to cry about vote theft. If votes were stolen, how did they manage to win five seats? They have nothing left are now spreading lies. The truth is, the people have given them a befitting reply.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that during the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress tried to mislead the public by spreading rumours that the BJP would change the Constitution if it formed the government for the third time. \u201cSuch politics of fear-mongering will not work anymore,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the Congress submitting a memorandum to the Governor regarding Haryana, Sh. Gangwa said, \u201cCongress\u2019s so-called concern for the poor is nothing but pretence. When BPL cards were issued, they questioned where so many poor people came from; and now when incomes have increased and some names have been removed, they have objections again. They now pretend to care for farmers \u2014 but where were they when farmers\u2019 lands were being grabbed under their rule? Back then, jobs were sold and their eyes remained shut.\u201d<\/p>\n
