Anil Vij, said that \u2018Vande Mataram\u2019 is deeply connected with the emotions of millions of people, and millions have sacrificed their lives while chanting \u2018Vande Mataram\u2019.\u201d He said that the struggle for the country\u2019s independence was fought by the people of India, and \u201cwe too are the people of this nation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sh. Vij was speaking today in Chandigarh during the ongoing discussion on the national song \u2018Vande Mataram\u2019 in the Winter Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha.<\/p>\n<p>Targeting the opposition, Sh. Vij said that \u2018Vande Mataram\u2019 was never given the place it deserved. He alleged that at the insistence of Jinnah, the Congress \u201ccut off two parts\u201d of \u2018Vande Mataram\u2019, whereas no one has ever altered the Gita, Ramayana, or the Quran.<\/p>\n<p>He said that \u201cwe salute Vande Mataram, bow before it, and offer flowers to it,\u201d but alleged that the opposition (Congress), by distorting \u2018Vande Mataram\u2019, laid the foundation for dividing the country because they bowed before a few people.
