Haryana\u2019s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that the efficiency of governance depends on the timely movement of official files. He said that \u201cThe pace of the government is determined by the pace of files. If files stop, government work stops,\u201d emphasizing that no file in his departments should remain pending without valid reason.<\/p>\n

The Minister categorically said that \u201cIt is my firm belief that if government files are delayed, government work comes to a standstill. Therefore, I never hold back any file in my department.\u201d He underlined that delays in matters related to the public are unacceptable and that time-bound disposal of cases is a core priority of his working style.<\/p>\n

Sh. Vij further said that transparency and accountability in administration can only be ensured when the decision-making process is swift, clear and result-oriented. He has directed officers to ensure that all proposals, schemes and financial approvals are processed promptly in accordance with rules, so that development works do not suffer due to procedural delays.<\/p>\n

Reiterating his commitment to efficient governance, the Minister often reminds officers and staff that government offices exist to serve the public and not to delay work in procedural complexities. He pointed out that departments such as Energy, Transport and Labour are directly connected with the daily lives of citizens. Any delay in file movement in these departments directly impacts public services, facilities and welfare schemes.<\/p>\n

An example of this work culture was witnessed recently when his Senior Secretary, Sh. Vijay Sharma, visited the Minister\u2019s residence in Ambala Cantonment late in the evening to ensure the disposal of files. During the review, Sh. Vij clearly instructed that no work or file in his office should remain pending under any circumstances. He emphasized that if a file is held up at any level, it must be reviewed immediately and resolved without delay. He described this not merely as an instruction, but as an administrative commitment.<\/p>\n

The Minister also highlighted that the use of technology is being strengthened to enhance transparency and efficiency in file disposal. Through the e-Office system and digital tracking mechanisms, continuous monitoring of file status is being ensured to eliminate unnecessary delays. Sh. Vij cautioned officials that meeting public expectations is the government\u2019s foremost responsibility. He reiterated that timely decisions, clear directions and a strong focus on results remain central to his governance approach.<\/p>\n
