Government is constantly working to improve Sports Policy of the State: Sandeep Singh<\/h2>\n

Chandigarh, December 29: Haryana Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs,\u00a0 Sandeep Singh said that the government is constantly working to improve Sports Policy of the State.<\/p>\n

He said that the Chief Minister, Manohar Lal has given a New Year Bonanza\u00a0 by increasing\u00a0 monthly amount for the award winning sportspersons. This step will\u00a0 certainly encourage the youth of the state towards sports.<\/p>\n

Minister of State for Sports, Sandeep Singh said that till now,\u00a0 the State Government was giving Rs. 5000\u00a0 per month\u00a0 to Arjun Awardees, but now the Chief Minister,\u00a0 Manohar Lal has announced that from January 1, 2021,\u00a0 Arjun Awardees in the State will be getting Rs. 20,000 per month.<\/p>\n

The Minister said that along with this, the monthly honourarium amount of\u00a0 Dronacharya Awardees and Dhyanchand Award winners has also been increased from Rs. 5000 to\u00a0 Rs.20,000.\u00a0 Similarly, till now Bhima Award winners were given a one time prize\u00a0 amount of Rs. five lakh but now along with this\u00a0 reward amount, Bhim Awardees will be given Rs. 5000\u00a0 per month.<\/p>\n

He informed that the players winning the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award given by the Union Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs will also be given Rs 20,000 per month\u00a0 thousand from 1 January 2021.\u00a0 Earlier, the winning awardees of\u00a0 Tenzing Norgay award\u00a0 were given a one time prize amount. They did not had any facility of getting a monthly honourarium but now these players will be getting Rs.20,000 monthly.<\/p>\n

The Minister said that 80\u00a0 Arjun Awardees, 15 Dronacharya Awardees and nine Dhyanchand Awardees are in the list.\u00a0 In this way as many as\u00a0 104 award winners will benefit from this decision.<\/p>\n

He said that in order to provide better facilities to the players, the state government is going to amend the Sports Policy soon.<\/p>\n
