2 day Losar Festival\u00a0by LAACL concludes in Kargil<\/b>\u00a0<\/i><\/h2>\n

KARGIL, JANUARY 06, 2021: Two Days Kargil Ladakh Losar- Traditional New Year Cultural and Literary Festival organized by Ladakh Academy of Culture and Languages (LAACL) Kargil concluded at Language Center New Academy Complex \u00a0here today.<\/p>\n

Executive Councillor for Tourism and Zanskar Affairs Er Phunsog Tashi was the chief guest on the occasion while as Assistant Director Tourism Syed Towha was the guest of honor.<\/p>\n

Those who sat in the presidium along with the dignitaries included noted Purgi\u00a0poets Aga Syed Hadi Shah Aga and Haji Muhammad Ibrahim Rahee.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the occasion, Er Phunsog Tashi congratulated LAACL Kargil and the participants for successful conduct of the two day cultural and literary event. “I enjoyed every bit of the two day festival and it has been an honor to be seated among the learned scholars, writers, poets and artists of Kargil”, the EC said.<\/p>\n

EC Tourism said that here was definite motive in all the presentations and performances that was to enlighten all of us about our rich heritage, history and culture and we as a community have to holistically develop the society in all the fields and that can only be achieved with a collateral collaboration of the society. He also suggested the LAACL Kargil to document its cultural and literary activities in audio visual form, adding that such festivals in future should be celebrated in villages as well where Losar is still celebrated in its real ethnic form.<\/p>\n

Assistant Director Tourism Aga Syed Towha in his address expressed happiness about the completion of the two day Losar festival and\u00a0informed the gathering about the successful operation of the recently held virtual Ladakh Literature Festival 2020. He said that the virtual festival proved beneficial in terms of outreach to the global audiences, as lakhs of people witnessed it.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the EC Tourism and other dignitaries felicitated the writers, poets, scholars, script writers, artists, narrators, anchors and other contributors who had contributed to the success of the Ladakh Literature Festival, 2020.<\/p>\n

In the poetry reading session held on the second day today, poets including Muhammad Ali Khan Sabeel, Arif Hussain Ladakhi, Sajjad Ali Shujaat, Raza Saqi, Tsewang Rigzin, Ashraf Ali Sagar, Sibte Hassan Kaleem, Muhammad Ali Bhutto Nowsheen, Muhammad Ibrahim Rahee, Aga Syed Raza Shah Razvi, Muhammad Yusuf Yuzarsif, Farooq Ahmad Noorie, Muhammad Ali Khumar and\u00a0Ghulam Qadir Zak\u00a0presented their poems on different themes.<\/p>\n

The paper reading and short story recital sessions comprised of two research oriented paper presentations by Dr Vilayat Ali and Muhammad Shafi Sagar\u00a0on the topics\u00a0Historical Perspective of Purig<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0Importance of Folklore in Shina Dardi Culture<\/i>.<\/p>\n

Moreover,\u00a0Shabir Misbahi\u00a0presented an Urdu short story titled\u00a0Neki\u00a0<\/i>while Muhammad Ali Ashour recited a Balti short story titled\u00a0Sha-Dre<\/i><\/b>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, folk singers and musicians including Tundup Namgyal, Ashiq Hussain, Zahida Fatima, Stanzin Laktso, Tsering Namgyal, Muhammad Javed, Imtiyaz Ahmad, Ghulam Hassan, Tsering Angdus and Fahmida Fatima presented Balti, Purgi, Shina Dardi and Ladakhi folk songs which were highly applauded and enjoyed by the audience.<\/p>\n

Later, Cultural Assistant LAACL Kargil Tsewang Rigzin\u00a0extended gratitude to all the guests, participating poets, writers and artists for having participated in the event despite severe cold and snowfall.<\/p>\n

Noted Purgi writer, poet and broadcaster Muhammad Issa Sabiri conducted the second day proceedings of different sessions held today.<\/p>\n
