6th Pharmaceutical Sciences Virtual Convocation held today at PU<\/h2>\n

Chandigarh, February 10<\/p>\n

University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University,
\nChandigarh organized the 6th Pharmaceutical Sciences Convocation virtually.
\nThe main highlight of the Convocation was the video compilation of the whole
\nprogram, which was played during the event. The nicely compiled video depicting
\nevents ranging from academic procession to Panjab University Anthem to the award of
\ndegrees to the graduands, was very well appreciated by one and all who attended.<\/p>\n

The event began with the Panjab University anthem followed by a peek into
\nthe illustrious 76 years of the Institute starting from its pre-independence humble
\nbeginning in the year 1944 at Lahore. The Chairperson, UIPS Professor Indu Pal Kaur
\nwelcomed and introduced the Chief Guest of the occasion Mr Rabbur Reza, a proud
\nalumnus of UIPS and the Chief Operating Officer, Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited,
\nBangladesh.<\/p>\n

Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, Professor Raj Kumar sensitized the young
\ngraduating students to keep thriving to achieve higher echelons and strive hard to
\nkeep this hard-earned legacy of their alma mater alive as they are the future of the
\nnation. He instigated them to keep their spirits high and continue their march
\nforward in the profession with utmost sincerity and with brighter innovative ideas.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Rabbur Reza, in his convocation address cheered the audience by sharing
\nhis personal, beautifully cherished moments spent at UIPS, some 28 years ago.
\nSharing his roadmap of professional journey, he highlighted how UIPS shaped his
\ncareer and emphasized on the role of India as \u2018Pharmacy of the world\u2019 in the current
\nunprecedented times. He motivated the students to keep expanding their horizons, get
\nexposure to different environments and be comfortable with the uncertainties of
\nlife. He congratulated and gave blessings to all the upcoming young graduates.<\/p>\n

Professor Ranju Bansal, Dean (2020), Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences,
\naddressed the students and administered the \u201cPharmacist\u2019s Oath for Code of
\nPharmaceutical Ethics\u201d to the graduands. Around 90 students including B.Pharm.
\nM.Pharm. and Ph.D. graduands were conferred their degrees where alongwith the
\ndegrees, recorded video clips of some were played too.<\/p>\n

The valedictorians, Miss Palak Jhamb and Miss Pariksha Oberoi from B. Pharm.
\nand Miss Riya Jain from M.Pharm presented their salutations for the Institute
\ndescribing how the UIPS nurtured and shaped them and their future both personally
