India continues to follow trajectory of Steady Decline in Active Cases

The Active Cases in the country are showing a consistent decline. India\u2019s total Active Caseload has dropped to\u00a01.36 lakh\u00a0<\/strong>(1,36,872)\u00a0<\/strong>today.<\/p>\n

The present active caseload now consists of just\u00a01.25%<\/strong>\u00a0of India\u2019s total Positive Cases.<\/p>\n

More than\u00a01.06 Cr<\/strong>\u00a0(1,06,33,025)\u00a0<\/strong>people have recovered so far.\u00a011,805<\/strong>\u00a0patients have recovered and got discharged in the last 24 hours.\u00a0India\u2019s\u00a0Recovery Rate of 97.32%\u00a0<\/strong>is amongst the highest in the world. The difference between the recovered and active cases has further increased to 1,04,96,153 today.<\/p>\n

In another positive development,\u00a031 States\/UTs\u00a0<\/strong>have reported Recovery Rate\u00a0more than the national average.<\/strong> Daman & Diu & Dadra & Nagar Haveli have a recovery rate of 99.88%.\u00a0Seventeen States\/UTs\u00a0<\/strong>reported\u00a0no deaths\u00a0<\/strong>in the last 24 hours. These are Lakshadweep, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Chandigarh, J&K (UT), Meghalaya, Ladakh (UT), Manipur, Haryana, A&N Islands, Rajasthan, Nagaland, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and D&D & D&N.<\/p>\n

Also,\u00a06 States\/UTs\u00a0<\/strong>have reported\u00a0no new cases\u00a0<\/strong>in the last 24 hours. These are Sikkim, Meghalaya, A&N Islands, Nagaland, Tripura and D&D & D&N. As on 16th\u00a0<\/sup>February, 2021, till 8:00 AM, the cumulative number of healthcare and frontline workers vaccinated against COVID19 in the country has\u00a0surpassed 87 lakhs.\u00a0<\/strong>The countrywide vaccination drive was launched by the Hon. Prime Minister on 16th<\/sup> Jan 2021.\u00a087,20,822\u00a0<\/strong>beneficiaries\u00a0<\/strong>have been\u00a0<\/strong>vaccinated through\u00a01,84,303 sessions,<\/strong>\u00a0as per the provisional report till 8 am today. These include\u00a061,07,120 HCWs (1st dose), 1,60,291 HCWs (2nd dose)<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a024,53,411 FLWs (1st<\/sup>\u00a0dose).<\/strong><\/p>\n

9,121\u00a0<\/strong>new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours. 80.54% of the new cases<\/strong> are from 5 States. Maharashtra reported the highest daily new cases at 3,365. It is followed by Kerala with 2,884, while Tamil Nadu reported 455 new cases. 81 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours<\/strong>. Five States account for\u00a070.37%\u00a0<\/strong>of the new deaths. Maharashtra saw the maximum casualties (23). Kerala follows with 13 daily deaths and Punjab has reported 10 new deaths.<\/p>\n
